One of the reasons I love a sleeping bag is that I think it’s a really good signal to baby from an early age that it is bedtime. I've only heard great things about Gro Snug so may well have an Xmas pressie all sorted now – thank you! I also love how my baby's arms can be tucked in or out and the zip all the way down makes midnight nappy changes super quick and easy. I do wonder if actually just the change is unsettling and it might get better after a few nights - she's always had to sleep hands by sides and now she can have them by her face.

Unlike some swaddle blankets I had used when Erin was a baby, putting Neve into the Grosnug was really straight forward, without needing a degree in origami like it can be with some others on the market!I struggled at first to get baby in the Grosnug but once you use it a few nights you get quicker and it then seems very easy to put on the baby. At the time I used a cellular blanket to wrap him in but I was always slightly nervous of using blankets as I was worried that they might fall over his face. This is a product that any new or repeat Mama would find useful and offer the peace of mind to know that nap times and bedtime covers are as safe as you can make them for your little one.

Made of cotton fabric to provide extra softness against the infant's delicate skin, it comfortably creates a nice wrap for your little one. The latter wasn’t a major problem, as I just needed to cover her with a muslin before I started feeding! I'm happy to use cellular blankets until then but not sure if swaddling at night is a faff when having to change? It acted as a sleep cue and helped my baby sleep in different environments for example when we went on holiday. She also had a tendency to wake herself up with flailing arms, so having them neatly tucked away led to a better nights sleep for all of us!Without having to worry about tucking in blankets, you can position your baby at the foot of the crib. She seemed to prefer the comfort of being tightly wrapped in her blankets, perhaps because it reminded her of being in the womb! There is no need to work out angles, and which corner goes to which corner – this Gro-snug takes the difficulty out of swaddling, and we love how it lets your little bubba keeps their arms out of the swaddle.

As Neve got a little bigger, she was less frequently startling herself when lay on her back, so we decided to use the Grosnug to transition to arms out, in preparation for when we move her into her first Gro Bag.I guess any change might take a few days for them to get used to but I would probably be put off after a bad night too. The Gro Snug is the first stage to providing your baby with a safer, comfortable, and content night’s sleep. The Gro-snug is available in two different weights - Light and Cosy, for different room temperatures. I am hesitating between the two as expecting a baby in January but our bedroom is not very cold (around 20-22 celsius). If I had freed his arms or removed the grosnug to feed then I would have woken him trying to put it back on.

We used the grosnuggle and it worked well in the early days as it stopped DD waking herself up by waving her hands around. The zip opens all the way up at the bottom, allowing me to change Neve’s nappy without having to completely remove the swaddle. It’s a very simple concept product as with most Gro Company products – you can simply zip the newborn into the sleeping bag for naps or bedtime as you would with any other sleeping bag for older children; however, it also includes the ingenious poppers at the arm slots that you can close up and use as a swaddle bag as well. What is more – the swaddle option for the sleeping bag is without doubt the safest way to swaddle I have seen on any swaddle blanket style product, as there is absolutely no way the baby can get their arms wriggling out and undo the material to break free. The revolutionary 2-in-1 Swaddle and Newborn Grobag is the only bedding you will need for your newborn. One of the features I loved about it was that although it could be used to swaddle it could also be used as a baby sleeping bag by undoing the poppers on the side.
