That it’s all a lie doesn’t matter, Kitty reasons, because the reclusive duke, immured in his remote Scottish castle for the last seven years, will never hear of her fraud. This book is one of the best historical romance stories I have read and I cannot wait to read more from this author! There is a twist that had me so very emotional (I won’t say more to avoid spoilers) and there were tears running down my face at various points in the story. And though he has defied some of the odds, he has been informed that he is impotent; and therefore, unable to produce an heir.

The feel-good factor that Romance gives us and knowing we will smile at the end is the reason why these novels attract such a huge following. Romance is a very new genre for me and one I choose today to break up some heavy books I have read recently and who doesn’t love a warm, cuddly, sometimes steamy romance that gives us the feel-good factor, and an ending you won’t be disappointed in. My heart really felt for both Kitty and Alex, and I loved that it’s a beauty and the beast storyline. This was reminiscent of a beauty and the beast retelling and I never wanted to hit pause on this audiobook.

It was by no means bad and I would potentially recommend this to people but I don't think I will be rereading this book.

I enjoyed watching her try to figure out how to pull this off, especially once Alexander found out he’s engaged to someone he’s never met. When Stacy is not writing, she spends a copious amount of time drooling over Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead, watching Japanese anime, and playing video games with her love, Dusean Nelson.Hmmm, the H is finding that spending time with the h is having an impact on him, and it is not what he expected. The lie would've completely ruined her and her dreams of having a family of her own but she was so selfless.

The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal.The Duke is solemn but sweet (when he’s not in pain) and has unique relationships with his household staff and his sister that makes it clear he is interested in people as they are, not as society deems they should be.
