Description

Andrew has been running the hotel for two years but has to go to France to sort out some legal things regarding his father. One Enchanted evening is everything you need in a novel when the weather outside demands you snuggle under a blanket with a good book.

I was happy to be involved with these characters and loved Ambrosine, the elderly resident who lives permanently at the hotel and hearing her back story. One walk-on who didn’t say anything was randomly named Ted, and then we had Edward/Teddy mentioned later on who was a completely different but far more important person.

I also took rather a liking to motorbike-riding Justin, stomping around in his black leathers with a smell of petrol and road dust…. It casts an eye back to the grand days of country house life, and forward to the way the world was changing in the 1960s in a number of ways - especially in cuisine. Also, I’ve just found out that A Wedding in the Country is about Lizzie (one of Meg and Alexandra’s friends) so I think I need to make sure I read that next! v=1644943335","options":["Title"],"media":[{"alt":null,"id":26117201363099,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":0.

Overall a very good quality service from this seller and I would not hesitate to recommend this seller. My thanks to Courtney Jefferies from edpr and the publishers for the proof and finished copies and the place on the tour. The FMC’s immediate commitment to a hotel that she had no connection to other than her mother employed there just didn’t ring true.Although this is a standalone novel I think personally I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the previous novel(s) with some of the same characters. This seemed a very predictable storyline with not much drama, and I felt the France vs Dorset setting for the main character was not believable. Katie Fforde lives in the beautiful Cotswold countryside with her family, and is a true country girl at heart. In addition: there is the other romance of Louise and Andrew( our secondary heroine and hero) ; Vanessa’s (one of Meg’s friends) over bearing mother and wedding plans; the staging of “A Midsummer Night’s dream” ; Meg going to France to get professional training; and the threat that Nightingale Woods (the hotel) might have to close.

I loved the sweet mother/daughter relationship between Meg and Louise and the friendship between Meg and her trio of old school friends. This time, the focus is on Meg as she agrees to support her mother with caretaking a Dorset hotel in the owner’s absence. When Meg meets the owner’s son, Justin, it is clear that he has already consigned the hotel to the rubbish heap. Meg and Justin are a brilliant couple, I loved how now matter how hard he tried he couldn’t not love her, not help but appreciated her cooking and admit she was excellent at what she did.v=1677516281","options":["Title"],"media":[{"alt":null,"id":27763094683803,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":0. When her back story was finally revealed I loved her even more and would happily read an entire book about her life during the war (hint hint). Many of her friends, quite a few of whom I recognised from A Wedding in Provence, make appearances too and everybody is jolly lovely….
