As always happens on reformulations like this, the powdery effect during the drydown of the vintage is almost absent on the current. I also have the current version of Azzaro Pour Homme, which isn't as much like Tuscany as I'd hoped. I have been trying this fragrance for the better part of a week and like it a lot but also have a couple issues with it.

Late in the drydown I noted a few moments reminiscent of the heart of Soda by Comme des Garçons, lending it a slightly avant garde feel. The middle notes of anise, patchouli and amber and base of leather, tonka and basil give the fragrance its air of rich, sophisticated masculinity. It blends bright citrus notes with warm sage and sturdy leather and oakmoss tones to form a classic fragrance still perfect for the modern man. Its aroma is so masculine, so eighties, and so captivating, that if you love classics of those memorable times, you will surely succumb to it; on the other hand, if you like modern perfumes, it will repel you, so, you will reject it—It is not for everyone.Since then, you've accompanied me in the office and even a casual outdoor setting where you stood your ground, releasing small bursts of your pleasant aroma for those closest to me to ponder it. was going thru a drawer that I have some memories or collectibles , some cigar cutters, lighters when I used to smoke a cigar often. If I were just ten years older, I'd be dealing with a lot of ignorance and crap that I am happy I missed. I don't want to categorise my perception and review in clishe of Top, Mid, Base as the whole fragrance is only one accord and I think it is not structured this way ! When it doesn’t, there isn’t an 80’s aromatic fougere I’ve smelled which feels more modern and wearable than Tuscany does.

I see a warm bright sweetness throughout its whole odor life which gives a golden hue, shine and sparkle to all the notes, but unlike today's perfumes which get their sweetness mainly from synthetic ambers and maltols, the coziness in Tuscany should come from anise, cinnamon and neroli. Notice that the shape of all bottles of 'Aramis Gentlemen's Collection' come from the design of the original classic bottle of this perfume. Two friends had Tuscany given to them from their wives at Christmas - reportedly because of my patronage. Unfortunately this performance has been lost over the years, I recently bought a bottle from batch A41 and longevity is 4 hours at best.It's a very bright, clear and (uplifting juice of citruses especially lemon) completely blended with aromatics such as Taragon and spices like anise and cinnamon. Tuscany Per Uomo has earned its place of honor in this fascinating aromatic world with all the merits, and I personally liked its smell a lot.
