He’s also done live tours, taking shows such as ‘An Evening With Ant Middleton’ in 2018, and ‘Mind Over Muscle,’ and ‘Zero Negativity. Being a sentimental sort, Mallory takes it upon himself to head to Paris and seek out Océane to try and convince her to get back in touch with her grandfather. In Mallory we have a hero who not only accepts the darker side of his nature, he revels in it, making him a captivating protagonist but also a man you wouldn't want to cross. Becoming a permanent fixture on the bookshelves of many, he’s fast become a bestselling sensation both nationally and internationally.

But one night in a bar he meets an old man afraid for his granddaughter, worried about the young man with whom she`s become involved. A great thriller from Ant Middleton; I have also enjoyed his motivational books and seen his talks, a very inspirational guy. Yes it’s OTT and Mallory is clearly made of titanium but it’s highly entertaining and I definitely enjoy it. Its no surprise given the authors background that this book has plenty of action, plenty of drama and leaves a pile of dead bodies in its wake. Ant’s style of narrative and descriptive passages ensures we are alongside Mallory on his “quest” to keep out of trouble.Overall, it was a great read, although I preferred the first book, just keeping my fingers crossed that there’s another book to come in the Mallory series! I definitely recommend reading this book if you love reading thrillers surrounding illegal activity and gang warfare.

On 14 May 2018, Middleton summited Mount Everest with Ed Wardle, completing the climb over a five and a half week period. As for the writing style – well I felt the dialogue was clunky, lacked fluidity and read like some bad acting scenes with many disjointed short sentences. Dealt with by a firm word or two, we swiftly move on to an action packed travel across France as Mallory hunts for answers.I also enjoyed the fact that the book was not cluttered up by too many characters and was written in a very readable style. Red Mist by Ant Middleton is a book easily slipped into, Mallory the ex special forces protagonist entertains us with such charm and fearlessness. Mallory has a spat with some locals in a small French village but is aided by the words of an elderly resident, himself an ex forces vet too but for the French legionnaires. Middleton joined the army in 1998 [2] [ non-primary source needed] at the age of 17 where he served in the 9 Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers and served tours of duty in Northern Ireland in 1999 and Macedonia in 2001.
