Description

When wearing suede place a lightweight layer of clothing between the item and your skin to prevent stains from your lotions, creams, and body oil. If you find that your suede has become dirty or stained, follow these simple techniques for cleaning suede. Not only will it help restore the color and make them soft and supple again, but it will also protect them from water stains and dirt buildup.

You can usually find the tag underneath the couch. If you are unable to find a label, move forward as if you have an S-label sofa to be on the safe side. Always test-clean on a small spot to ensure it won’t stain the material. Cleaning Suede Sofas with a W-Label So there you have it, four compelling reasons why you should start using a suede conditioner on your suede leather goods today instead of using a regular leather conditioner.

RELATIONSHIPS & FAMILY

Suede is a delicate type of leather and should be treated as such. Although it is possible to use a regular leather conditioner on suede items, it’s not recommended, as doing so can ruin the nap, make the suede stiff and brittle, and leave blotchy spots all over your item. I for one did this routine for years before discovering all the good qualities suede conditioners had to offer. Then, use a nail brush and warm water to clean the stubborn stains. If the oil or grease stain is fresh, you can apply cornstarch to the stain and let sit overnight. The next day, using the brush, remove the starch and then mist the stain with an iron. Easily Remove Mud from Suede Sneakers and Shoes Remember, whatever your method of cleaning, never heat your suede shoes, as this will damage the material. Always allow them to dry naturally and brush the suede down to keep them looking smooth.

For water stains, lightly dampen the entire surface with water and a suede brush, blot excess water with a dry cloth or paper towel, then leave to air dry.

If the scuff marks are stubborn, and you aren’t able to remove them with the suede brush, use a pencil eraser to erase and clean scuff marks from suede. Apply a moderate amount of pressure and increase the pressure if needed to remove tougher marks. Removing Water Stains from Suede
