Description

Sylveon was the first Fairy‐type Pokémon revealed, excluding Pokémon that had their type changed upon the Fairy type's introduction. Sylveon wraps its ribbonlike feelers around its Trainer’s arm because this touch enables it to read its Trainer’s feelings.

There’s a Galarian fairy tale that describes a beautiful Sylveon vanquishing a dreadful dragon Pokémon. Protect/Detect -Best move in Doubles, and Sylveon is one of the rare Pokémon that gets Detect, enabling it to dodge Imprison shenanigans. Sylveon is the only Pokémon introduced in Generation VI that is an evolutionary relative to a Pokémon from a previous generation. Sylveon can exude a peacefully soothing aura from their ribbon-like organs to tranquilize their foes or prey. They can wrap and strangle quarrellers with their long extensible feelers as well.

Where to find Sylveon

Sylveon's overall appearance appears to take inspiration from rabbits and possibly the Asian Moon Rabbit due to fairies being known for their activity under moonlight. The Asian Moon Rabbit is also known for being companions with Chang'e, a Chinese moon goddess that wears a robe with many ribbons, which may be the inspiration for Sylveon's ribbon motif.

When this Pokémon sights its prey, it swirls its ribbonlike feelers as a distraction. A moment later, it pounces. Water Terastalization is highly recommended, annihilating Heatran, and Amoongus while offering superb neutral STAB coverage against many Fairy resistant targets. Conversely, Tera Fire may leave Sylveon stymied against Heatran, but enables it to annihilate Amoongus, Gholdengo, Kingambit and more.Poor Speed, forcing Sylveon to tank hits before acting, compromising both its bulk and offensive pressure. There's a Galarian fairy tale that describes a beautiful Sylveon vanquishing a dreadful dragon Pokémon. Despite being shown as very peaceful in its Generation VI Pokédex entries and its trophy description in Super Smash Bros. 4 as well as being told its ribbonlike feelers bring peace, in Generation VII, it is said that its ribbonlike feelers are used as a form of hunting and straggling prey.

Wish is an incredible clerical tool, enabling Sylveon to heal its teammates, being a massive enabler to them as well as giving Sylveon some much needed longevity. Sylveon comes from sylvan (meaning of the forest, due to legends of fairies residing in forests) and eon (a long period of time). Its name may also derive either from sylph or sylvan, both of which share the Latin root silva, the Latin word for forest. In mythology, forests are often depicted as places where fairies and nymphs can be found. It emits a soothing aura from its ribbon-shaped organs. It wraps these appendages around quarrelers to instantly restore calm to the situation.Sylveon has mnade a few appearances in the anime. Most notably, Serena's Eevee evolved into one and was used during her Pokémon Showcases and Contest campaigns # Dunsparce, Swinub, Piloswine, Mamoswine, Phanpy, Vigoroth, Pachirisu, Buneary, Lopunny, Cubchoo, Beartic

Sylveon ranked 6th, among all Pokémon, in the Pokémon of the Year 2020 poll by The Pokémon Company. It also ranked 2nd among all Kalos Pokémon. Its ability to use its ribbonlike feelers to calm fights is mentioned once again in its Pokémon Sword Pokédex entry.Serena's Eevee evolved into a Sylveon during a tag battle at a dance party in " Party Dancecapades". Chi-Yu -Beads of Ruin helps push Sylveon’s already incredible damage into the stratosphere and Chi-Yu and Sylveon cover each other’s weaknesses well (Chi-Yu melting Tera Steel types, Sylveon blasting Fighting and to a lesser extent, Dragon types) Defensive Sylveon sets bring their own issues, as Sylveon has access to Yawn which is great at shutting down momentum or crippling a would be counter, but often pay the price for it by being far more passive. Toxic Spikes is incredible against defensive sets, forcing it to Wish more often and sabotaging its bulk while punishing the use of Protect.
