Feniks en het ijspaleis is een aanrader voor kinderen die graag verhalen lezen die zich in een andere wereld afspelen met bijzondere wezens of krachten. De snelheid van het verhaal en de opbouw van de wereld vragen wel wat meer leeservaring. Hoewel het zeker geen slecht verhaal is en wel degelijk vermakelijk, is dit fantasy verhaal niet uniek ten opzichte van andere jeugd fantasyboeken.

Fully grown adults like myself can learn from that too. I absolutely loved Fireborn, so I was eagerly anticipating the second instalment, and I'm pleased to say it didn't disappoint at all! Aisling Fowler has created something super magical with this series, and I wholeheartedly would recommend this gorgeous series! My kids love it as much as I do.

Die Figuren finde ich sehr gelungen, besonders fünf und sechs, sie sind lustig! Aber auch Phoenix ist hier umgänglicher! Maar Feniks en het IJspaleis staat met name in het teken van de heksen en hun wereld. Dat was magnifiek gedaan. Het idee om een paleis van ijs in een reusachtige, bevroren golf te huizen, is geweldig, en wat de heksen allemaal kunnen met hun magie vond ik ook heel sterk. We leren heel veel over ze. Anekdote an mich selbst; wenn du am Ende des Buchs bemerkst das es anscheinend eine Trilogie ist statt einer Dilogie 😳, dann habe ich Pech gehabt!

The world building is brilliant. We saw one location in the first book and here we delve into the world of ice. Und genau in diesem Frostpalast der Hexen gibt es etwas, das ganz Embra bedroht und in Gefahr bringen könnte. I wouldn't say it's better than the first one, and that's because the first one was fabulous. But it's definitely not worse. They're both equally as well crafted and developed, humorous, heartfelt, fantasy stories, perfect for children and adults alike. This book just gave Aisling a chance to further develop the world and characters she has created. Quite dark and dangerous for a middle-grade book, l Firebornwas fast paced and full of adventure! I loved the messages about working together as a team, perserverence, forgiveness and pushing through your differences! Feuerblut - Die Reise zum Frostpalast“ glänzt ebenso wie sein Vorgänger in bester Manier und bringt neue Magie Elemente sowie neue Kreaturen in die bereits bekannte Welt, welche uns aber ebenfalls zu einem neuen und überaus fesselnden Abenteuer führt. Ein Leseerlebnis der Extraklasse!
