Description

Created out of a passion for downhill racing, Burgtec do not create their components in huge numbers - instead, they work hard to produce products which exceed the expectations of their customers, whether that’s flat pedals, or wider handlebars. Every product that leaves their factory is superior to the competition. Burgtec certainly put their money where their mouth is as well, and they can be seen racing themselves most weekends, and at all of the World Cups alongside an impressive list of riders who choose to use Burgtec products.

Cutting straight to the chase, the pinstripe and crisp CNC vibe is either your thang or it isn’t. Truth be told, even if it is your thang, it may just simply not suit your bike. The swoopy, candy colour, gloss finish of certain carbon frames doesn’t lend itself to being paired with a chunk of lasered alloy. First job is to work out what stems will actually fit on to your bike. You’ll need to know your fork’s steerer size and handlebar diameter. Bar: We recommend you look at the bar manufactures specification for this. If you're using our bars then it is 6Nm Reasons to buy: Super solid and resilient, flex free, and now comes in some great colours. Great value Race Face Turbine R 35 1. Race Face Turbine R 35 Stylish stem available in loads of colours and lengthsTested with the world’s fastest jibbers and sendiest racers, this stem has everything you need to hit all those rowdy racing lines or pull that little bit harder off that big sender. Burgtec Enduro MK3 35mm Stem Specifications To be honest I chose my stem (Spank Spike) on some solid armchair engineering. I have seen faceplates fall off from friends' bikes so four bolts for a single faceplate brings some failsafety. I don't quite expect the same from those separated faceplates as featured here. And forging gives a better grain structure than what's left of it after (CNC) machining so Spank (and some other bigger companies) win it there too. Finally, I think the organic shape (based on armchair engineering, mind you) makes more sense to me, how there is more material around the bolt holes to distribute and channel the loads to the where it needs to be transferred (so basically from handlebar to steerer). So in all fairness, this Burgtec stem isn't all that bad. Instead of CNCd out of a single solid billet, it has been machined out of a forging (just like the much appreciated Hope hubs) and the shape makes sense in a way comparable to how the Spank stem makes sense to me. At least more than the more angular Rental stems. But it doesn't win it for me because the Spank stem is cheaper and has a single four bolt faceplate. Note: When tightening the bar, make sure every space between the face plates and the main body are equal. If you wish to return your bike to us please keep it in the box it arrived in and call us on 01772 644340 and we will arrange a collection.

Enduro has unquestionably evolved ever closer to Downhill. The Enduro MK3 Stem is all you need for hitting the trails with wingsuit type accuracy. This Stem was born out of rider’s demands for precision and for those moments when you have to be inch-perfect.From the start of the design process, it became clear that we wanted extra rigidity. To yield this, we would need to make the Stem using a forging process - a new thing for us. The result of which allowed us to achieve a more intricate shape than machining alone. It involves applying a huge amount of force to redirect the grain flow of the material. As a result, this gives superior strength, fatigue and impact resistance. As a result, this gives superior strength, fatigue and impact resistance. It’s also noteworthy for offering a bit of rise (approximately 6°), which is a welcome and all-too-rare feature on sub-50mm long stems. Secondly, as with Renthal’s handlebars, there is a tiny but noticeable flex apparent when really loading up the front end. Which could be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on your position. If you’re currently feeling like your 35mm standard front end is overly harsh, Renthal’s Apex stem could be the answer to your prayers. Perhaps the main USP of the Burgtec Enduro MK3 is that it is available in a 42.5mm length. It may sound daft and all rather Princess-and-the-pea, but a couple of mm here and there with stems can certainly be felt by experienced riders. So if you’ve tried 40mm and 45mm stems and not quite gelled with them, here’s the (42.5mm length) stem for you! Taking design elements from our World Cup-winning Direct Mount MK3 Stem and splicing these with our critically acclaimed Enduro MK2 Stem. What we really like about the Race Face Turbine R35 is that it’s pretty stiff for a lightweight machined stem. Even with a matching 800mm Next R bar fitted, the steering feels precise and immediate, with just the right amount of resilience. With a rainbow palette of anodised colours, the Race Face Turbine R stem indulges your creative side. Whether you choose to go mild or wild, the sturdy forged and CNC’d body is stiff enough for the widest of bars and burliest of builds and even comes in a stubby 32mm length if you’re looking for a truly direct steering response. The gapless clamp holds bars securely and spreads loads evenly, while the rounded-off edges of the steerer clamp keep the opposing bolts away from your knees.a) If we have sent you the incorrect bicycle, we will cover the cost of collection and delivery of the correct model.
