Description

Hades is the perfect morally gray male character who despite all the horrible things he’s done, you can’t help but fall in love with him. He was masterfully written to remain mysterious while still wildly open and loving. You could really see his heart through Persophene's experiences with him and I found myself desperate to learn more about him. A Touch of Darkness begins as Persephone makes the move to New Athens, hoping to live disguised as a mortal after her powers as a goddess failed her. On a night out, she begins gambling, unaware of her surroundings or the people she’s circulating with.

Perfect for fans of A Touch of Darkness, this Greek myth retelling has appearances from the Minotaur, Daedalus, Icarus and more!

In her excellent series Hades & Persephone, Scarlett St. Clair creates her own setting, inspired by the culture and landscape of ancient Greece but with an attractive, modern twist. She calls it ‘New Greece’ and her overarching story is based on the real Hades and Persephone myth. When Eydis Darkbane casts Dark Vortex, most of the raid will be immune to its damage since attuned to Dark Essence. WELL. Time for me to have yet another unpopular opinion because I thought this book was better than the first one. 😂 I’m even able to tell you why. An absent best friend who’s only there to encourage the heroine to party and sleep with the hotshot billionaire Hotfix (2009-09-23): The Val'kyr Twins will now heal for more in Heroic difficulties and ignore any heal dampening effects.

The beautiful evil ”mean girl” we're supposed to hate because her only role in the book is to steal the hero from the heroine To minimize raid movement that would reduce the raid DPS, you only want to swap from Dark Essence to Light Essence in case of a Light Vortex, OR if a Dark Vortex already happened and you must break a Shield of Darkness to interrupt Twin's Pact, since the next vortex can only be a Light Vortex. It also made Hades look weak because of his love for Persephone as he always excuses her when all she had done is just stupid after stupid mistakes. Can't she be rational for once? I'm at 59% into the book but I'm not sure if I wanted to continue because Persephone is so infuriating, I can't stand her character and it's a first for me. She was bratty, wimpy, annoying, insecure (this one I can let it slides sometimes), jealous and incredibly stupid. I thought it would turn around in the end, have some sort of inner growth arc to her character but the conclusion to all of these issues were dealt with poorly. She made stupid decisions after stupid decisions. Then, she blamed other people, Hades, Apollo, Jaison for driving her to do those stupid decisions. For making her that way. It was all about her and none about other people's feelings or considerations. It's getting nowhere, just same old shit from Persephone & same old shit for Hades to deal with. It's getting monotonous. The author focuses too much on the romance on the first book than coming up with remarkable plot. However, I can't tell if the second book is an effort to come up with something more interesting but it kinda fails. I REALLY TRULY hope the third book would be better. I never felt so mad as I did with a female lead character.

Greek mythology has inspired art of all kinds throughout the years and still today, in the form of television shows, films and books. Lore Perseous’ family was killed in Agon. Agon is a punishment for a past rebellion where nine Gods are made mortal, every seven years. I didn’t like Persephone. She was always being such a stupid brat. Always demanding or saying stupid things.

I loved this one! Even more than the first, I guess I’m apart of the minority in that. Persephone did annoy me at times with her immaturity and constantly whining “I’m making the biggest mistakes”. Realizing it and yet she keeps adding to the list. 😂 I love Hades but our dark god kept digging himself Into some deep holes because Seph was right. No he doesn’t need to come clean about all his sins.... but at least the present ones!! In the end I feel like all the struggles between seph and hades were needed. I’m hoping that they can handle things more maturely and become stronger together because they are sure gonna need it for what’s coming!!!!St. Clair also loves reading murder mysteries, which although a completely different genre from her own writing, has obviously influenced her ability to construct an intriguing, slowly-unraveling story that can keep readers hooked until the very end. It's also time to retire a dynamic where one party (usually the woman) says something that implies she isn't interested, and the other party (usually the man) "sees past" her protests to what she "really wants" and informs her of her own desires. It's gross and problematic. It gets a slight pass in this story, since Hades is literally a god and can literally see into people's souls, but it's still pretty skeevy. When planning your raid composition in WotLK, Wowhead has several features to help you optimize your class setup. So, the deal is that Persephone was struggling to navigate her new relationship with Hades. There was the matter that he was ancient and had had lovers before her. She was also afraid that she’d lose herself in him. She wanted to be independent. That made sense, and those were valid concerns. Go her!

That tough, huh? You better believe it! You're going to face two of Arthas' most powerful Val'kyr lieutenants! While St. Clair uses this story as a loose guideline, she adds various modern twists including gambling and steamy details of their relationship. Fans have lapped up this modern reimagining and continue to eagerly anticipate anything else St. Clair writes. These Violent Delightsis a retelling based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet which is perfect for fans of A Touch of Darkness. there wasn’t much world building in this book compared to the first one, but i don’t think it needed it as much. it was already so developed and the plot just carried it. miss scarlett knew what she was doing in this one. having me wanting a vacation to the underworld 🤭 SIGN ME UP RN
