I enjoyed Jason's introduction, but forcing it into the same issue where Batman "fires" Dick feels in bad taste and doesn't make much sense.

Batman tells Harvey he needs his other hand to pull himself up, but without the coin, Harvey can't decide what to do. These 1988 stories take Batman into police procedural territory, and set the stage for the bestselling Batman: A Death in the Family. While this is supposed to be the (2nd) origin of Jason Todd-the 2nd Robin, the collection opens with a two part story BEFORE the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" that opened the door for the new origin.

The villains in these stories are kind of silly with an old lady that many believe to be running an orphanage but she really runs a crime school and a mime….

That experience will no doubt be bittersweet, because my BATMAN comics were not well-received by a significant number of fans. During the wide shot of Two-Face hanging from the ledge before losing his grip, his left hand opens fully.

That being said, I can better understand why some fans were upset upon the original introduction of Jason as Robin. Robin learns of the villain’s connection to his father and goes out seeking revenge while Batman plays to the boy’s better angels and succeeds. With a career dating back to the early 1970s, he is best known for "cosmic" tales and space opera; for revamping the Marvel Comics characters Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock; and for creating or co-creating the Marvel characters Thanos and Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu. Although, in "Two-Face, Part I", when he walked out of the hospital room, his left leg wasn't affected in any way. Most of my comic reading stems from Silver Age fare from Marvel and 2000s era books from both companies.

Every volume in this brand new series is a hardback book that presents one of the most important superhero tales of recent years. Nobody at DC Comics informed me of this, but a collection of all of my BATMAN comic book stories has been published. If you’re a Batman completist, you’d love it, but there isn’t much here if you are someone looking for the high notes and the significant events. This collected edition chronicles some of the key adventures in the short-lived career of Jason Todd, the second Robin, after his origin story was completely rebooted in the wake of Crisis on Infinite Earths. Sometimes the second part of a story would be drawn in an entirely different manner from the first, and apparently minus any reference material having been provided to the second artist to keep character visuals consistent with the first. A youth who is a little cocky, a bit brash, and kinda rude taking over the role of America's favorite teen sidekick without so much as a thank you and it ticked fans off. Once I learned about the editorial and artist difficulties on the rest of your run from you years ago, it helped me appreciate them in that there really ARE good stories in there trying to get out from under all those problems.

That company went to DC, wanting to put together bags of BATMAN comics; the Toys ‘r’ Us people looked at about three or four years of BATMAN…and picked out my issues. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.Seeing him adopt a child immediately after losing one was a very big challenge on us as a reader, because on one side you fall for Jason Todd's wittiness and spunk, but on the other side you mourn the loss of Dick.
