DYLON: My only quibble with this range of terrain is the separate kit cost. I really only wanted the landing pad and the radar dish/comms array kits, but when I realized that for only a little more I could get everything, I went ahead and got the big box. If you’re just buying one of the kits, it’s worth it, but anything more than that, just grab the box and have a ton of rad terrain at a considerable discount. There are some good missions here, with some clever hooks. For many of them I think the boxed set terrain is an OK start but not really ideal, and I’d suggest upping the stakes and adding more terrain to the table if you’ve got it. Richard Butler: We wanted to expand on the idea of frontier worlds, where brave colonists and foolhardy pioneers have set up Imperial outposts and settlements, surviving dangerous territories and climates. At the same time, we wanted to produce genuinely useful gaming terrain. The prices are guessed at this point, but based on what we’ve seen, we think this is pretty close. Terrain Now that I’ve had a chance to get my grubby mitts on the contents of the box, this review will be breaking down what you get inside Battlezone: Fronteris Nachmund. Also how easy it is to fit together, how it fits into the slew of games offered by Games Workshop and how it represents an interesting and exciting departure from their usual aesthetic. Battlezone: Fronteris Nachmund – What’s In The Box?

What appears to be a rough 40% saving across the board is weighted heavily by the terrain in this box. as that was calculated based on the individual parts where possible. If you’re happy with the Kill Teams in Nachmund and just want to get going with your gaming, GW does a couple of bundles to get you started, but they aren’t cheap. There’s the Rules Collection as well as the all-inclusive Essentials Collection. The individual pieces are chunky and geometric and well made enough to fit together easily without any significant gaps. The instructions are straightforward and easy to follow and the top of the landing pad actually comes as a single separate piece with no attached sprues. There are one or two mislabelled components – such as the hatch that goes on top of the Fuel Reservoir – but these are easy enough to circumnavigate, as the clear pictures throughout the guide make it easy to match components to their images. If you want to see what it’s like to fight as a member of the Adepta Sororitas, add the VR game Battle Sister to your wishlist on Steam.DYLON: Oh boy, this is a hefty box. I actually thought to myself that I’d want to keep this box around for storage purposes, it’s that nice. It also happens to be full of plastic sprues, with the card boards at the bottom. If you’re moving above 1000 points and onto the suggested 44″ x 60″ table, then there just isn’t enough terrain in this one box to really work, which isn’t really surprising as that’s not what it’s designed for. Should I Buy Battlezone: Fronteris Nachmund? Som, before we begin, I need to say that this is a wild estimate based on several factors I’ve gone into below. And whilst we are estimating much of the value here, on the verge of a yearly price hike from GW, what we are looking for here is an estimated savings percentage. At least then, no matter what the price goes up by, we can still infer a saving.

With a good pair of nippers, a hobby knife and some plastic glue, I was able to assemble the whole thing in around 2 hours. That’s even accounting for my somewhat needless desire to eliminate every single mould line or piece of flashing. The fiddliest part is the Vox-Antenna, and that’s only because you have the choice of vertical or horizontal for the position of the dish. What’s The Quality Like? These help us understand just how much value is to be had not only in the prior-released sets, but also how much money we may save with Nachmund. All these classic miniatures are a great way to add variety and character to an Aeldari army on the tabletop, and they also work as fascinating painting projects. And, of course, it’s an opportunity to add models you may have missed to your collection. Like many of these boxes we’ve seen, the majority of the value comes in the terrain. Still, this lets you get the new Eldar Voidscarred Corsairs and Chaos Space Marines months before their individual release. Plus, you get a ton of terrain, the books, and new rules for each team. Hallowed Ground sees the famous witch hunter duo Galen and Doralia ven Denst coming to terms with the culmination of the siege of Excelsis. When Galen disappears into the wilds of Ghur, his daughter sets off on his trail, but what secret is the veteran seeking? As the community team announced the Corsairs, then 2 weeks later the Chaos Upgrades. So I’m betting 2 weeks from then before they tell us; “it’s coming next week”.

Now, let’s see the type of value you get inside the Battlezone: Fronteris – Nachmund terrain box set! There are plenty of other ways for you to spice up your games, matched play or otherwise, thanks to new Terrain Traits. Alongside the Light Cover, Scalable, Exposed Position, and Obscuring traits, the Fronteris Landing Pad has Hidden Supplies ability, which lets your troops raid its cargo holds for ammo and gubbins to give them the edge in a firefight. The new Battlezone: Fronteris – Nachmund terrain set is a modular medley of rugged Imperial terrain. We’ve already heard how the studio designed it to complement matched play , produce varied layouts, and create fun tabletop narratives – but one enterprising hobbyist has taken it to a whole new level. When I reviewed Kill Team: Chalnath, I got a bit of a headache trying to figure out whether or not I thought the box was worth the money. To paraphrase a several paragraph-long explanation: although Octarius had a lot more content in it that Chalnath (as was to be expected: the former is a new edition box, the latter an expansion), the fact the two weren’t priced all that far apart left me unsure as to whether or not I felt like Chalnath was worth the money GW were charging for it. Essentially: was Octarius a bargain and Chalnath a fair price, or was Octarius a fair price and thus Chalnath a bit expensive? Along with this magnificent boxed set, you can also get dice sets for the two kill teams. Surely, the Chaos/Aeldari gods (delete as appropriate) will smile upon your rolls if you’re using the correct dice? The Corsairs dice have the symbol of the Eldritch Raiders on the ‘6’ ( Prince Yriel ’s buddies) while the Chaos Space Marines feature a Legionary helmet. If Nachmund isn’t your thing but you’re still tempted by Kill Team, you won’t need to wait too long for the next box. These are being released on a quarterly basis, so we’ll likely see another June/July time. Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team: Nachmund Review – Final Thoughts Pros The vast amount of options for each miniature is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, all the different parts available allow you to personalise your figures to your heart’s content, and will leave you with plenty of bits left over for future projects. I think the comparison is fair, but we could be looking at a little more for the Guardians overall. Kill Team Nachmund Terrain Value

The events team is similarly excited – this terrain will soon begin to appear on competitive tables on the tournament scene, both at the upcoming US Open events and at Warhammer World itself. The set has a fantastic look and perfectly fits tournament table layouts. It’ll ensure that players have a consistent and fair terrain layout on more aesthetically diverse tables for all games at official Warhammer events. The Power Relay Substation gives players the option of performing the Salvage Power Core action, which can net you an extra CP on a 3+. There’s only one book in the Nachmund box, but it’s a pretty important one as it contains all the info players need to get to grips with their new factions and the Nachmund setting. Kill Team: Nachmund War Manual These articles are usually excellent if you scroll past the wall of text and look at the pure data in the tables. However on this occasion the data presented misses far of the mark. If you are looking for the ultimate Fronteris terrain set then look no further, this kit contains everything you need to create a large scale Fronteris battlefield for Warhammer 40,000. We’re now seven months into the new edition of Kill Team and we’re once again receiving a hearty injection of fresh content.
