Description

The first chapter of the book is noticeably short. In it, Mann uses Fyodor Dostoevsky to explain that Germany as the country has always protested against the Roman Catholic and Western world. [16] Chapter 2: The Unliterary Country [ Das unliterarische Land] [ edit ] So, if you're a good/okay person and not an asshole there is nothing new in this book for you.. The book should have started and ended with "Try not be an asshole". That's the gist of it. Kurzke, Hermann (2009). When I started reading — Reflections of a man, the first thought appear in my mind was, who would invest such efforts? But as I continued I realized he guide men and women which is not very difficult (if one really wants to improve his relationship). I recommend this book to everyone but specially girls, please Read this book once in your life it will help you alot if you're in relationship or you're going through heart break or you're single no matter what its a life changing book. It will guide you for your future. It's making everyone so fragile and overly sensitive that they won't listen to the facts.. When did people start becoming so offended and sensitive to the hard truths..

The author of this book must have a wonderful, loving heart and soul and anyone, man or woman, should aspire to be just as insightful, loving, soulful, and intuitive to their significant other.

Thomas Mann, "Reflections of a Nonpolitical Man" (1918)". German History in Documents and Images. Archived from the original on 28 December 2022 . Retrieved 28 December 2022. Then again I know awesome examples for non fictional/self-help books on topics that don‘t affect me at all, I love beyond words. When are people going to realize that this is exactly the kind of shit that promotes the "blame culture". The shit that promotes you standing in front of the mirror and saying "I am beautiful, I am strong" just so you could hide the fact that you won't accept a fact.. No beautiful person ever goes in front of the mirror and says that crap.. They just know they are.. In the chapter titled "Soul-Searching", Mann explains the significance of the " triumvirate" of Arthur Schopenhauer, Richard Wagner and Friedrich Nietzsche as the inspirators for his thinking. [17] Chapter 5: Burgherly Nature [ Bürgerlichkeit] [ edit ] Now I know I'm not the target audience ( strong, confident, overly sensitive and fragile woman :D :P ) for this book but I'd still leave a review just because I'm so tired of stupid people making all the men look bad without any strong arguments...The last two chapters of the work deal with aestheticism. In "On Aestheticism ", Mann explains that political artistry is false because he considers it to be half, intellectual, intentional and artificial. The chapter ends with a notable critique of expressionism and satire. [17] Chapter 12: Irony and Radicalism [ Ironie und Radikalismus] [ edit ] The Reflections of a Nonpolitical Man have been recognised as a wartime treatise. [12] Thomas Mann saw his work as "intellectual military service" in the confrontation between German "culture" and French and British "civilisation". [13] Fyodor Dostoevsky inspires the chapter "On belief". According to Mann, true faith is not faith in any principles, words and ideas such as freedom, equality, democracy, civilisation and progress, but faith in God, meaning, at the same time, faith in love, life and art. [17] Chapter 11: On Aestheticism [ Ästhetische Politik] [ edit ] This book will feel like a person to you it will talk to you and most importantly it will listen to you its like a therapy. It will accost you as "My dear beautiful strong woman". Or "My Dear friend".
