The whole elixir bottle thing was also a little stupid, in my opinion, and made the feel of power from the Bassette family diminish in my eyes. I don’t want to dwell into it because I really liked the rest of the book, even if I wasn’t the biggest fan of the resolution. Moreover, the 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻 this book gave was just🤌🏼 I mean, I loved the bitter-banter and the 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗿-𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 between the main protagonists. Their interactions just made my heart swell with happiness, I was smiling all the time😁 Por un lado, teniendo en cuenta el punto de vista argumental-historia de la novela, personajes y escenario es pobre en general y cliché, algunas de las escenas son rápidas y el desarrollo de los personajes, aunque son bastante carismáticos y adoro a cada uno de ellos, debo admitir que les ha faltado un poco para parecerme del todo creíbles. Welcome to the world of Aadilor, where lords and ladies can be murderers and thieves, and the most alluring notes are often the deadliest. Dare to listen? My Thoughts It also ended with a fairly nice bow wrapped around it. Thinking this was gonig to be a fantasy series, I thought the ending would leave you with something for the next book. That’s fine that it didn’t and that the series is following a more romance series cadence (each book exploring another character’s perspective), so it did throw me a little that it wrapped up all at once.

Larkyra Bassette,” he began. “Singer of the Mousai, filthy girl of Jabari, and woman of, I’m sure, many more masks, all of whom I love. You do things I don’t even know I need, and you surpass the expectations of the things that I do. As you feel endless with me, I feel endless with you. You make me dream bigger than what lives in this world, and I only want to continue exploring it by your side." I loved the separation of the worlds – between Larkyra’s home life, to the dangerous allure of the Thief Kingdom and the place Darius calls home – they’re all so vastly different.

Please read TWs and make sure you're at least 16+ to read this. I would rate this at a New Adult fantasy romance series. Also, the Mousai?!?! I can’t exclaim enough about how cool they are. From the way this book opens up, to the bond between them and the magic they wield. Honestly, it would be cool af to hear it in person. I could easily visualize it, just like everything else in this book, but I wish I could hear it. I really enjoyed Song of the Forever Rains by E.J. Mellow and felt it to be well written. I would definitely recommend this to people who like reading fantasy romance. People who have an interest in unique interpretations of magic.

While this is a happy-ever-after romance, the gloomy setting would have made Edgar Allen Poe proud! I think the way everything was described made this probably one of my favorite audiobooks I've ever listened to? You are most definitely swept away, and I find that these are the stories that do better on audiobooks because the author does such an incredible job setting the stage. (I'm even adding a new tag/bookshelf for these types of reads!!I'm not writing a massively long book review for this one - but I feel like everyone needs to read it. With a distinct arabesque feel to the story and the way the characters are written, I couldn't help but love Larkyra's story of traveling across the lands to unwitting save the man she would grow to love.
