Anyone who has owned or used a Honda before won't be surprised that the build quality of the Honda Civic is outstanding and that both the safety and security specs are superb. It has anti-skid and stability assist (EBD and VSA) as well as active anti-whiplash head restraints, dual front, rear and side airbag protection and side impact beams. At around £16000 and with its sleek, aerodynamic and eye catching design the Civic 2.2 i-CDTi is a challenger to all others in its class and probably the best version available. The running costs and environmental impact are low with a combined fuel consumption of 55.4mpg and 135 gpk CO2 emissions. Despite this it has a top speed of 127 mph and gets from 0 to 62 mph in just 8.6 seconds. Some commentators have said that despite being roomy enough in the front and boot, that the rear seats are a little cramped. If you're looking for a family car take everybody along to a showroom just to be sure. If one of your children is a six foot tall teenager they probably won't be pleased with your choice.
