However, with its awkward clasp fitting, you’ll probably find it easier to locate a step to stand on rather than dig out this accessory each time you want to dust a ceiling-mounted lamp shade or the top of a cupboard. One thing the Henry Quick doesn’t have is something to stop long hair from tangling the brush bar in the motor head and this proved a problem in my testing. Their cordless vacuums are packed with clever technologies to help you keep your home spotlessly clean.

We're yet to test this part of the vacuum as there were no scent capsules included in the box, however, using them and changing them is a breeze. BNPL is an interest bearing option that allows you to delay payments on your purchases for up to 12 months depending on how much you spend. The problem, of course, is that pods are a consumable which cost money – once those initial 26 are used. It wasn’t the best at vacuuming up a couple of the leaves that had managed to make their way indoors though — it was almost like the vacuum sucked them up and tried to spit them back out again, only in smaller pieces. Picking up Cheerios on such a surface is always a tricky test and the Henry Quick’s floor head just isn’t equipped for it, pushing the large cereal chunks ahead, only collecting 2g. If you’re quite frail, I can guarantee you’ll struggle to get the brush head off again once it’s been attached. Otherwise, if you've got a spillage to clean (like crushed crisps) then you can turn on Boost Mode, just make sure that you open the air valve on the roller brush head.

I tend to turn on the roller brush when cleaning the part of the rug that's underneath my bed as it means I can see.As you may have noticed from some of my other vacuum cleaner reviews – especially the Gtech AirRam Platinum – I’m very partial to a good bin-emptying system and this one is up there with the very best, mainly because it comprises a disposable and recyclable bag – or pod – for fuss-free emptying. Those three are all the attachments you get: there’s no separate hard floor head or miniature motorised head for cleaning your car or sofas that you get with the – admittedly more expensive – Dysons. In the box, there is also a packet of screws that is needed to attach the mount to a wall in your home.

After unboxing the vacuum and splaying its parts and accessories out on our sofa, we then recycled the box and all of the packaging in our outside bin. Suction isn’t up to the level of a Dyson stick vacuum in either the standard mode or boost mode but despite this it does a fine job of cleaning carpets and hard floors. The new Henry Cordless vacuum (otherwise known as the Henry Quick) outperforms other stick vacuums in more ways than one. Annie tested this vacuum cleaner in her two-bedroom flat in South East London, over a six-week period.

I will say that it does have the dad seal of approval, as my parents are very happy going from their older Dyson to this.
