The Jaguar X-Type projects an image of unmistakable class. In terms of styling it hasn't forsaken its heritage but underneath it's built on a version of the chassis developed for the Ford Mondeo. That's less a cheap shortcut and more a well deserved recognition of the outstanding stability and drive of the Mondeo. The diesel versions such as the 2.0 S reviewed here are reasonably priced and have very good residual value which makes them an excellent proposition for a leasing contract. Fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions make the diesel versions the best option for business car leasing. Among its more notable features are the intelligent position and weight sensing front airbags and the drive-away locking system. The majority of the parts used are well tried and tested and give the X-Type very well desrved reputation for reliability.
