Description

Kingspan Kooltherm’s fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic core ensures excellent fire performance. This foam pipe insulation has a densely cross-linked structure that makes them difficult to ignite. Because of the superior fire performance of kooltherm, it can be used for insulation of pipework in building services Phenolic foam is an insulating material utilised in a range of applications where higher thermal performance, fire and moisture resistance are important performance criteria. Phenolic foam insulation is usually lightweight, rigid but easy to install. Fire Resistance: The Kooltherm Pipe InsulationSystem comprises a full range of prefabricated pipe components and accessories. Besides large-diameter pipes, Kooltherm pipe insulationalso includes tees, bends, valves, and flanges. These components are factory-prefabricated and are incredibly easy to install. Kingspan Kooltherm pipe insulation has a closed-cell structure The perfect solution for where Waterproof Pipe Lagging is required. Once sealed, it will not allow water ingress which can cause problems with water freezing under the insulation.

Kooltherm pipe insulation is a phenolic foam, rigid pipe section supplied in 1M lengths by Kingspan. This phenolic tube is known to give outstanding thermal insulation, fire resistance and moisture protection to any and all types of pipework. Kooltherm pipe insulation can be used to insulate all types of pipework. The insulation is suitable for mild steel, carbon and stainless steel, copper pipes, multiplex and plastic pipework. Kingspan pipe insulation is CFC/HCFC-free andhas a low Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP and low Global Warming Potential (GWP).Phenolic foam pipe insulation is provided with a densely cross-linked structure that makes them difficult to ignite. Semi-gloss finish. Requires no further painting or treatment and gives the completed installation a professional look. Also, pipes insulated using Kingspan phenolic pipe insulation are completely protected from thier surroundings. This increases the dew point, thereby restricting keeping condensation and pipe sweating. Make sure that you insulate the whole length of the exposed pipe work, including any couplings, joins and event taps.

Generally you will find that there are two numbers written of the lagging. These refer to the size of the relevant sizes:We have lots of projects all about insulation and draught proofing should you need more advice here. Water pipe insulation, or heating pipe insulation, can also prevent bacteria and mould from growing on pipes, which can affect how long they perform for and the areas surrounding them. If pipes begin to grow mould in a timber frame building they could spread this into the wood or even into surrounding insulation.

Also, since Kingspan phenolic insulation works most efficiently in the temperature range of -50°C to +110°C, they function as the ideal pipe wrap, not only to maintain the temperature of hot water but also to protect pipes from freezing. You shouldn’t lag pipes underneath your tank in the loft, or in fact put any insulation under the tank at all, as you need the heat from the room below to keep the water warm and flowing. Types of Pipe Insulation for LaggingPipe is an industry standard pipe size found in most domestic heating and plumbing systems. Insulating your heating and plumbing pipes will ensure the system runs at maximum efficiency by reducing heat loss. Behind the pipe push the insulation so that each side of the split meets around the pipe. Then to ensure that it cannot become dislodged you should tape in in place. Sometimes people prefer to use cable ties, but it doesn’t really matter so long as the insulation is kept snugly fit around the pipe: You might see different types of pipe insulation, but typically the most cost effective option that you will be able to buy is the polyethylene foam type. You should be able to get this at any DIY shed.

If you are lagging hot water pipes, make sure that the central heating is off and the pipes have cooled down. When you get to a 90° bend in the pipe you should cut the pipe insulation at 45o on each side of the bend. They will then join making a perfect join. The premium performance of the thinnest and most efficient Koolthermpipe lagging insulates pipes like no other! It is CFC-free Low thermal conductivity allowsKoolthermpipe insulation to achieve higher standards of thermal efficiency, fire resistance and compressive strength than most other insulation materials. Occasionally you will get bend in the pipe which you will need to follow with your run of insulation. The easiest way to deal with this is to notch our 30° cuts from the inside of the bend in the insulation.
