Something new I learnt from this book is NEVER be a spy just like the quote, because if you do, you will probably, get Eel serum injected to your body, have a narrow escape from flesh peeling eels, nearly get shot in the face by a double barrel shotgun, and experience a narrow escape from a purple eyed beast who ( SPOILER ALERT SO DON"T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU, OK?! ) kills the evil possessed madman. As an avid movie watcher, I enjoyed this spectacular graphic novel! Since I have watched almost every 007 movie, I was definitely not let down. Not only did the author successfully integrate the Bond we know and love, but he was also able to develop a new and interesting plot. I loved it when James encountered the biggest danger of all but was soon saved by the most unexpected hero of them all. Plus, Red constantly provided a witty sense of humor, a characteristic that made him my favorite character. Even though the main plot of the story was intriguing, the several side-plots (e.g.. the Hellebore Cup, a race that took up much of Part I) were hard to follow and in the end, unnecessary. Despite the confusing subplots, I still highly recommend Silverfin to anyone who enjoys graphic novels, adventure-filled books, or just loves James Bond (like I do).

OK, I am positive that if my uncle did not gift me this novel through the post, I would have surely not read it. Any book about James Bond as a child would not have placed an interesting thought in my mind.Randolph is the chief villain of SilverFin. A big, powerful American who has returned to his ancestral home in Scotland on Loch Silverfin. He is an arms manufacturer and is working on a topsecret new weapon. He will let nothing and no one stand in his way. There's something in the water at Loch Silverfin. Something deadly. Something that must be kept secret... Charlie Higson is a well-known writer of screenplays and novels, including the phenomenally successful Young Bond series. He is also a performer and co-creator of 'The Fast Show' and Radio Four's award-winning 'Down the Line' series - recently made into a popular BBC2 sketch show, 'Bellamy's People'. Charlie is a big fan of horror films and is now hoping to give a great many children sleepless nights with his The Enemy series.

Ian Fleming's impression of James Bond, drawn by an unknown artist (it would seem that out of all the movie Bonds, Pierce Brosnan is the closest to what Fleming envisaged. Charlie Higson started writing when he was ten years old. After university he was a singer and painter and decorator before he started writing for television. He went on to create and star in the hugely successful comedy series The Fast Show. He is the author of the bestselling Young Bond books and the incredibly successful horror series, The Enemy.

George Romero’s early zombie films – Night of the Living Dead & Dawn of the Dead mostly. But there are bits of Lord of the Rings, fairy tales and the tales of the Greek heroes. James’s classical tutor, also in charge of athletics at Eton, Merriot becomes something of a mentor to James. Although part of the Eton system, he admires independent thinking.
