b) Students are expected to make their own travel arrangements to and from the venue and/or attend on Zoom Even as a young child, the thrill of overcoming a problem was one I relished, no matter how long it took. Mathematics, as alluring and flawless as it may seem, is full of problems, hence I was swiftly drawn into the subject. Towards the end of my final year in junior school, I realised the challenges set in school alone were not enough to quench my thirst, and began seeking logic puzzles elsewhere. As someone who has graduated in an arts degree, I found the book very math heavy. There is a lot space dedicated to solving math questions and I wonder if those would have been more beneficial outside the book. I would wager that maths is the authors passion and that shows in the book. But once again, the volume of maths doesn’t detract from the mission of the book, it just makes it a bit cumbersome at times. But I say this as a person who has specialised in the humanities. If you have a child in years 11 or 12 likely to do well/ or having done well in their GCSEs then this book is well worth your time. Although principally aimed at those planing on studying sciences including medicine and the more mathematical subjects such as economics there is much good advice here for any student in lower 6th (year 12).

v) The amount of time between a monthly billing interval is one month. This means 30 days for some months (April, June etc.), 31 days for others, and then 28 or 29 days for February. An underlying theme throughout the book is how ability, passion and potential is being sought in a successful candidate and how to display these three qualities throughout the application process be it the exams, the interviews or any experience that a candidate embarks on. That’s why we’ve selected our expert tutors to give you everything you need to make sure you blow your competition out of the water! (So to speak.) In sixth form, I have had the most thought-provoking lessons in Further Mathematics, where I found the Mechanics and Further Pure modules especially fascinating. The idea that complicated concepts such as matrices had applications in computing, or projectile motion calculations in sport, tied mathematics to real-life situations, which only increased my curiosity about the subject. [ Top tip: Here, you could provide a link to something done on top of the study of these subjects in school, to show engagement and evidence of self-study.] In Physics, the mechanics modules overlapped and reinforced my knowledge. It doesn’t stop there…The Oxbridge Formula talks about the interview processes at different colleges, a variety of interview scripts, the successful personal statements and outlines of the sort of people that apply to the programme showing which ones are successful and which aren’t and most importantly why they didn’t succeed. The Oxbridge Formula’cannot be held responsible for any injury to a student, or financial or other loss or damage resulting from such injury, or for damage to property, caused by any other student, or by any person who is not an employee or authorised agent of The Oxbridge Formula. 12. Financial loss iii) All text, design, graphics, logos, and other materials remain our intellectual property in perpetuity unless stated otherwise and may not be used for any purpose elsewhere without our express permission.

With admissions now so competitive, you can’t afford to fall behind on any part. But we’ve found through experience that they key to every part of the application is having an expert to talk to – not least because learning from someone who truly understands your subject will massively advance your own subject understanding, which will then shine through in your performance in tests and at interview. a) The intent of The Oxbridge Formula’s services is to educate students and allow students to explore mathematical ideas in unfamiliar contexts. or presented in speech or writing at a The Oxbridge Formula course or through another of The Oxbridge Formula’s services All the staff and tutors were helpful and reliable, especially Paarul, who has a firm grasp on the necessary requirements and rigours of achieving success at the highest level, for each and every student on The Oxbridge Formula. The tuition you’ll receive will be bespoke – i.e. you’ll receive the exact help YOU need, when you need it. This could be in the form of marking, going through marked solutions, general problem solving, or developing the right mindset. Oxford, Cambridge, and UCL all use the TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment) as a Pre-Interview 120 minute exam. (Section 1 – Problem Solving and Critical Thinking – 90 minutes; Section 2 – Essay – 30 minutes)

v) The Oxbridge Formula documents may have logos and digital watermarks, which are not to be removed.b) On the rare occasion that is becomes necessary, The Oxbridge Formula reserves the right to alter the course date, venue and presenters indicated at the time of booking. In such circumstances, we would endeavour to provide a substitute of equal standing.

It’s important to give concrete examples of your passion for maths, whether this be through competitions you’ve entered, extra problems you’ve solved, books you’ve read, or lectures you’ve attended. Just show that you’re passionate! Example Personal Statement iv) By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you consent to the participant’s presence in any audio, video or photographic recordings officially arranged by The Oxbridge Formula. You waive any rights, claims or interest in the reproduction, distribution and exposure of any and all aforementioned recordings owned and possessed exclusively by The Oxbridge Formula. c) The Oxbridge Formula also does not guarantee any specific positive outcome from using our content or services.A successful Oxbridge application can have so many parts – personal statement, admissions test, interview, A-level performance… you’ll want to make sure you get the most out of the precious time you have. I thoroughly enjoyed the efficiency in which the book. There are QR codes in sections discussing exams that enables the reader to take a look at past papers instantaneously (provided you have an internet connection). It covers the degrees mainly offered by the STEM subjects with a very big emphasis on the Maths and a bonus chapter on philosophy. Each section highlights; The different variations of the degree (did you know Philosophy and Maths was an option?), how the subject is offered in Oxford vs Cambridge, what exams are needed, the expected work load in the first year (the thought is a workout in itself…) and interestingly recommended reads to deepen an understanding of a subject. An Oxbridge Physics interview (for Physics at Oxford or Physical Natural Sciences at Cambridge) will put completely new demands on your ability to analyse physical situations, apply advanced mathematics to them, and communicate your ideas to a tutor all the while. Reading Marcus du Sautoy’s “The Music of the Primes” and Simon Singh’s “Fermat’s Last Theorem” has shown how individuals have dedicated their lives to solving seemingly simple problems. The main attraction of these books and mathematics more widely, is problem solving, which is also what draws me to engineering. Solving a wide variety of problems is something I really enjoy; in the most recent UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, I was awarded a gold certificate, also the best score in my year at school.
