This is probably the coolest set: all squigs all the time. How good this will be is yet to really be seen with the impending Gloomspite Gitz box on the horizon so it’s hard to gauge. If you’re just getting started in the faction, don’t have many squigs in your Gloomspite army, or are getting it as a gift for someone that simply loves squigs then it’s a pretty great box. Mangler squigs are maybe one of the coolest models in the game and since it’s two full sets of them you can turn one or both into Heroes as well if you really wanted to. Lingering Spirits gives you a 4+ ward save against mortal wounds, which is nice but you probably have better things to be doing than probably still failing to keep your general alive against Lumineth Sentinels. Aura of Dread: Enemy units are terrified while they are within 3″ of any friendly Nighthaunt units. While a unit is terrified, it cannot issue or receive the Inspiring Presence command. This ability has no effect on Nighthaunt units.

The Nighthaunt were meant to be more than “just” an army, but a way to explore death and the underworlds in the Mortal Realms. The Nighthaunt aren’t a force of brave soldiers, or mechanical automatons, but rather a motley collection of prisoners – complete with wardens, jailors, and guards. Rather than weapons, the Nighthaunt wield ancient instruments of torture, or simple implements from their former lives, like the clubs and daggers wielded by the Chainrasp Hordes.” Another situational item, this can be very good against a strong casting army and you just want to get that Cogs or Terminexus off without worry about it being denied. I just feel there’s much stronger artefacts out there. Aura of Dread – Enemies within 3″ are terrified, which prevents them from issuing or receiving the Inspiring Presence command. This is a lot different than it used to be, but it could be quite a bit deadlier with all the other new rules. Important Note: some of the box contents give you a few more models than what individual kits offer. We’ll be calculating in the minimum number of individual kits it takes to get as close to what is offered in the bundles. (for example, if a box gives you 8 models but they are sold online in boxes of 5, we’ll be calculating the cost of two boxes). Stormcast Eternals

Battle Report meanwhile pits the mighty new Astra Millitarum against the pus-filled legions of the Death Guard – will Imperial might prevail, or will they be ground into mush under the inexorable advance of Nurgle’s blight? This is one scary weapon! Give this to any none unique hero who hits hard and he’s going to be auto hitting. If you need to be within 1″ of an enemy, they are going to be terrified anyway, so -4 rend is something to fear! Wave of Terror– After a Nighthaunt unit finishes a charge, you compare the unmodified charge roll to a table. You can give the target -1 to hit, -1 save, or even the Strike Last effect, depending on what you roll. What’s more, multiple charging units can get the same effect multiple times! The Named Characters – Olynder is a potent glass cannon, providing mortal wounds galore on a body that’s fragile enough that means she typically dies to any real sustained ranged pressure, though she projects enough strength she’s often worth the risk. Reikenor provides a vital utility role for Nighthaunt, as he can wound himself with his Corpse Candle ability to cast a spell with a +3 modifier, which can be extremely helpful for pushing key spells through some of the more potent casters that other armies typically bring to the table. Thanks to Warhammer Community, we know there will be a whopping seven AoS Christmas Battleforces in 2022 (almost doubled from 4 last year). That is huge, as starting in 2016, there were only eight battleforces altogether for both AoS and Warhammer 40k total!

Over on Warhammer Community, there’s going to be lots of great content this week, including the online Armies on Parade ceremony on Saturday the 26th. New goodies for Necromunda and the Horus Heresy will be revealed, while the Warhammer Live crew will be working on the Warcry: Sundered Fate and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battleforce boxes on Hang Out and Paint . Really good for keeping key heroes alive, and whats even better it heals at the end of the combat phase so may save you a command point on using Heroic Recovory. This does make me wonder where the long-rumoured GW (not Forgeworld) Horus Heresy box is going to fit in now? Probably in the new year? Break out the marshmallows – the Horns of Hashut are coming. This warband was first available in Warcry: Heart of Ghur and comprises 10 miniatures, including Ruinators, Demolishers – one of whom is armed with the deadly Flamehurler – and Shatterers. They’re also usable in Slaves to Darkness armies for Warhammer Age of Sigmar.** Rotmire Creed
