The team last worked together on Channel 4’s Emmy award-winning seasonal hit – an adaptation of Kerr’s The Tiger Who Came to Tea – which was the third highest-rating programme on the channel in the whole of 2019. They travelled first to Switzerland and then on into France, before finally settling in Britain, where Kerr has lived ever since. Meanwhile, Adjoa Andoh, who narrates the film, said that it was "obviously" an easy project to say yes to, and explained why. The ballad has been written by the men behind the music for the film adaptation of Judith Kerr’s The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Then, when Mr Thomas brings home an enormous tree, a startled Mog clambers onto the roof and refuses to budge.

From the creator of The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Mog the Forgetful Cat comes a delightful Christmas adventure about a really remarkable cat! Bridgerton’s Adjoa Andoh will narrate, while The Crown star Claire Foy voices Mog’s owner Mrs Thomas and Benedict Cumberbatch voices her husband, Mr Thomas.Judith was awarded the Booktrust Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, and in 2019 was named Illustrator of the Year at the British Book Awards. It is accepted by you that Daunt Books has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. This festive, family-friendly tale has huge cross generational appeal and is the perfect literary classic to adapt for the whole family to come together to watch. Benedict Cumberbatch voices Mr Thomas, who frightens Mog by bringing a Christmas tree into the house. My family suffered bereavement this December, and I’ve realised that I can barely understand loss myself.

But if that Sainsbury’s advert was, perhaps, excessively brisk, Channel 4’s adaptation verges upon saggy. Published in 1968 and never out of print in the fifty years since, it has become a much-loved classic and perennial bestseller.

It’s very much in the same vein as Tiger: a mix of orchestral delight with some up-tempo jazz and pop elements, based on an incredibly catchy main theme also heard in a song (this time it’s “As Long as I Belong”, lyrics by Don Black and vocals by Sophie Ellis-Bextor – it’s a real ear-worm). This new animation is a gentler affair, adapted from Kerr’s picture book of the same name, which was first published in 1976. Mog’s Christmas: The illustrated children’s picture book adventure of the nation’s favourite cat, from the author of The Tiger Who Came To Tea – as seen on TV in the Christmas animation!
