Description

But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. If I was reading this 15 years ago, it could’ve been one of the books that introduced me to this genre and I know it, in fact, did for a lot of people.

Murtagh and Thorn must defend Alagaësia from a shadowy new threat in this sequel to Inheritance (2011). The main character's most interesting bit of characterization and only vestige of personality is that he collects rocks, and this is only mentioned in one paragraph. The only way to actually enjoy Eragon is if you have never encountered a single fantasy-related story in your life (and that includes "Star Wars", by the way). With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old storyteller for guidance, Eragon and the fledgling dragon must navigate the dangerous terrain and dark enemies of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil knows no bounds. Stunning drawings, amazing printing quality, and incredible ideas make this series a must for anyone who loves dragons and art!A ridiculous number of phrases seem to be something I've heard before, though I'm not sure where; for example, near the beginning someone is touching a wrapped package repeatedly, "as if to reassure herself that it was still there. A short (and somewhat sarcastic) summary: Main character = Eragon, mysteeeeerious boy-child left with his aunt and uncle by wandering mother, father unknown. I wish Poalini would ensure sellers give as much access as possible to people outside the US for these Limited run versions. Humans are a big part of the story (especially when Roran becomes a big character later in the series). Eragon finds a huge egg in the forest but thinks it is just a precious stone — that is until it hatches and a dragon emerges.

In this extraordinary work of art, Paolini’s fantasy masterpiece Eragon is brought to life in an entirely new way through Sidharth Chaturvedi’s brilliant illustrations that accompany the complete original text. The book tells the story of a farm boy named Eragon, who finds a mysterious polished blue stone in the forest. What you are not entitled to is saying that a certain author is a piece or crap and a knock off of a literary masterpiece.

The Riders likely had a way to counter the effect of being in the saddle, and at any rate, once a dragon was large enough, it became impossible to sit on like a horse.

But I also don't try to create my own languages--that I more or less steal--and claim that I created all by myself. This Middle Grade tale weaves together many classic Fantasy elements, such as magic, dragon lore, a quest and plenty of action. Eventually, in an ancient elven ceremony, the Agaetí Blödhren, Eragon is affected by powerful magic, turning him into an elf-human hybrid, and healing his back injury. Here's a great big fantasy that you can pull over your head like a comfy old sweater and disappear into for a whole weekend.
