While the board is slightly more compact to save space, the keys have a standard layout and don't feel cramped to type on. Not ideal but I think typing on a conventional layout is good for me since my 40s mapping requires some wild muscle memory changes. I do love that the Drop ALT has USB-C ports on the left and right, as someone who fancies using aviator cables, I always found that showing off aviator parts was nicer on a board that has the port on a far side of the board. For instance, I applied the Matrix preset (pulsing green pattern) to the keyboard, then added red RGB lighting to the F keys, Shift, and Enter keys.

Additional legends have been printed on the front faces, denoting extra functionality on those keys. With parts already lubricated, these switches have a smooth, linear feedback with no scratchiness or unwanted noises.I am not a fan of full-sized keyboards so I did most of my testing on the 65% board, though both keyboards are the same under the hood so what I say in this review regarding the performance, keycaps, and all of that goes for both versions. For now, these Fox switches are exclusive to the GMMK 2 though I of course don’t know what kind of plans Glorious has for the future.

Analytics and statistics These cookies are used to gather information about the user experience on our site. I say this because Glorious also makes a board that’s aimed at the higher market tiers but it makes no sense comparing keyboards with hand-lubed boutique switches and stabilizers to a mass-produced keyboard that’s aimed at a different audience altogether. The GLORIOUS GMMK PRO and the GLORIOUS GMMK 2 are two similar hot-swappable keyboards, but they have a few differences. However, the GMMK 2 has some improvements over the GMMK including lower latency, a better build quality, and better RGB backlighting.Glorious's products were built to meet the needs of both serious gamers who wanted more than anyone else had to offer and the beginner who is just looking for their first gaming mouse. Glorious uses their signature orange accents and there’s some holographic features, but the packaging is concise and doesn’t necessarily need to be kept around. I’m someone who knows my way around these driver software programs (I’m a gaming product reviewer, after all, so I get to interact with them often) but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to only get the side lighting to light up, for example.

This barebone model is equipped with 5-pin hot-swapping technology, making it the perfect foundation for customising and tailoring. This update adds several new tests addressing Hardware Customization, Macro Keys And Programming, and Wireless Mobile Compatibility. Although the keycaps are textured ABS rather than PBT, they're doubleshot and feel much higher quality than the ABS keycaps found on the previous version of this keyboard, the GLORIOUS GMMK. Full disclosure: Glorious provided me the GMMK 2 in Pink with Glorious Fox switches, and coiled cable, Aura keycaps in Pixel Pink. Unfortunately, it's a high-profile board, but it doesn't come with a wrist rest, which would improve the comfort overall.Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). This method of legend printing mould two layers of ABS plastic together for a seamless finish that resists the general wear and tear of use. Ultra customization among the best gaming keyboards has previously been relegated to the super expensive or niche keyboards. On the other hand, the Drop uses PBT keycaps, which feel more premium, and it has an additional USB-C port to plug in additional devices if you need to.
