Her smile breaks through like the sunlight above us. “The song of home,” she says. “The sun is singing the song of home.” The most positive comment would be that no matter what raven Kennedy writes I end up wanting more. I wasn’t going to continue with this series after this book cause the length was to much, but alas here I am searching when the audio will be realised for book 5. Glow reads like a (slightly, long winded) love letter, from Raven Kennedy to fans of the series. It is essentially a character study, not a major plot advancer. Was it the most dynamic storyline? Certainly not. But if you truly love AURIP, have wanted to know every last detail about these chars and honestly just crave basking in the moments of their glory, then this book is immensely satisfying. Ok. Whew. First off this book was heavy. You knew coming off of the end of Gleam that this was not going to be a light and breezy book, even on top of Auren still working through a decade of grooming and abuse. You knew her recovery was going to be painful and that this combined with everything else would take time. Every step of her journey, loss, and healing in this book is slow, delicate, careful, heartbreakingly realistic, perfectly depicted, and beautifully handled. There wasn’t a single question, discussion, thought process, or scenario in my mind that the author did not explore which I, as an abuse survivor on the “other side” of life in a healthy and loving relationship, both loved and appreciated SO MUCH.

The sun,” Auren answers quietly, tone filled with a tentative, innocent joy. One that you’re afraid of saying too loud in case it breaks. “She’s singing to me.” But with Slade by my side we will fight the monarchs that come for us. And if we need to become the villains, then so be it. We are finally leaving the fifth kingdom and going into the fourth so we get a whole new aspect of world building in this book. The world is beautiful and Raven does a fantastic job of describing each of the different settings. She really brings this world to life in ways that make you feel like you are there. Star Ratingstar equals a bad book. I barely finished this book and I will never recommend anyone waste valuable book reading time on this book. The betrayers. The murderers. The ones who nearly destroyed Orea, and wiped out Seventh Kingdom in the process. He has power sizzling beneath this skin and glinting spikes down his spine. But his eyes—his eyes are the most compelling of all. I have burned down the court of King Midas and from those flames, I will rise and wield my own power. For ten years, I’ve lived in a gilded cage inside King Midas’s golden castle. But one night changed everything.

Wow, the HANGOVER from this book is legit! I still can't shake it, and my thoughts keeps changing accordingly! So I will fight for him and he will kill for me, and if we need to become the villains, then so be it. Suddenly, my trust is broken. My love is challenged. And I realize that everything I thought I knew about Midas might be wrong. It scares me - what I did that night. Because I don't know my own power . . . But that's been the problem all along, hasn't it?'

He’s sinister and powerful and entirely too seductive. I’ve learned my lesson with trusting manipulative kings, so why does my chest constrict every time he’s near? I need to tread carefully, or I’m at risk of losing much more than just my freedom. I’m sitting here. Staring at this. Trying to figure out how to put into words everything this book was to me. All I’ve got is masterpiece. This will be a SPOILER FREE review but WILL contain large plot spoilers for the previous 3 books so proceed with caution if you’re not caught up with the series. stars equals a great book. I might buy an ebook version when it’s on sale so that I can re-read it at least one more time. THE BRAND NEW BOOK IN THE TIKTOK FANTASY SENSATION THAT'S SOLD OVER HALF A MILLION COPIES, PERFECT FOR FANS OF SARAH J. MAAS AND JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT Glow was emotional devastation. And. I. Loved. It. Focusing on strong character development rather than in depth plot helped take us on an emotional journey with these characters. Diving deeper into Slade's childhood has been so insightful to him as a man and as a King.

A spectacularly written, engaging, imaginative retelling of the ancient myth of King Midas' 5***** Reader Review Read this series NOW! I felt like I was in the story watching and holding my breath the entire time' 5***** Reader Review Like a phoenix caught fire, I will need to rise from the ashes and learn to wield my own power. Because my wings may have been clipped, but I am not in a cage, and I'm finally free to fly from the frozen kingdoms I've been kept in.The Character dev is off the charts in this book! Slade is the main focus and we pretty much get it all (I also really enjoyed learning about Ryatt and their family dynamic). Additionally we get new POV chapters from Queen Kaila, Osrik and Rissa. However, these chapters end up being very few and far between. Especially with Kaila, my gripe is that we didn’t get enough! She ends up with maybe three chapters total I think? All at the beginning of the book, which seems like such a missed opportunity. I just needed more. And the way in which her chapters so abruptly come to an end makes it feel like Kaila was an ultimately forgotten, afterthought. Because these bars I’m kept in, no matter how gilded, are still just a cage. But the monsters on the other side might make me wish I’d never left. I’m now in a strange kingdom surrounded by liars, with no allies of my own, but I won’t sit idly by and let myself wither. No, there’s something that’s bloomed from the pit of my repression. Something dark. Something angry. The Wrath is at the top of my list for favorite characters. They bring a bit of lightness as well as delicacy in helping Auren and Slade through this book where they start to heal. Additionally, Digby is taking his role as Aurens guard very seriously and it really warms the heart. I will admit there were parts of this book that did feel super repetitive and just longggg, however every time I found myself thinking “didn’t I already read something exactly like this” it led to a new point of healing or vital conversation for Auren. You cannot rush healing and oftentimes through healing repetition is how you’re able to find the safe place and the courage needed to process through certain feelings/memories. So I think that’s important to remember as you’re going through this book, especially if you feel it’s beginning to get slightly long winded.
