The watch is fitted with a stainless steel bracelet that is mostly satin-finished but has some polished parts. Its value proposition becomes extra evident when you look at this watch in detail. It’s not the best watch out there in terms of finish and build quality, but in relation to its price, there are few better alternatives on the market. I am very happy with this little "Fleiger style" watch, particularly with it's dial, which compares to any that I have seen in the affordable watch space. The dial has a great deal of well composed detail, this is subtle and hard to see in photographs. In person this very inexpensive watch actually looks high-end. They are all affordable price, ranging from less than a hundred dollars up to a few hundred dollars. The most popular of the bunch, at least amongst watch enthusiasts is the Seiko 5 sports, which are watches that are sporty, robust, and durable.

The watch is equipped with the automatic Seiko caliber 7S26C. This watch beats with a frequency of 21600 BPH (6 beats per second) and has a power reserve of about 41 hours. It is equipped with 21 jewels. Night visibility isn’t great, there’s some limited ‘lume’ applied to the hands, and small dots of ‘lume’ at the foot of each silver baton. However, if you do want a really good watch in the dark, then Seiko do plenty! For starters take a look at the Seiko SNXS75K or SNXS77K.

Seiko 5's are not the best automatic watches in the world and nobody in Switzerland is losing sleep over Seiko 5's. However if nothing else Seiko 5's are very durable and since the technology isn't exactly groundbreaking they are super affordable. Translation, Seiko 5's are a decent watch that last a very long time even under rough use, yet relative to anything else that is as durable they are really cheap. In short a bargain if you get one that keeps time out of the box to within 1 minute or so per week.

The watch has polished rectangular-shaped hour markers which, again, enhance the perception of quality. Right next to the inside of the markers on the dial, the watch has applied luminous dots which help with legibility in the dark. The hands are leaf/dauphine style hands, also made of polished metal. They also have applied Lumibrite on them. The dial is just clean and elegant like a blank canvas that only has the most important parts left, and nothing unnecessary left. As they say, perfection is met not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to remove. Seiko 5 SNKL41 movement The polished markers and hands catch the light beautifully and help give it that premium-watch impression which is a great thing considering its price. In 2020, Seiko incorporated the 5 Sports series into the Seiko 5 collection. The collection thus comprises the Sports, Suits, Street, Specialist, and Sense series in addition to classic Seiko 5 models. While the Sports line mostly offers diving and pilot's watches, you'll find some colorful, stainless steel diving watches in the Suits line as well. The Seiko Sense and Street series are home to playful, multicolored designs. Lastly, the Specialist line features diving watches made of stainless steel, some of which have a bronze or golden exterior. Note:There are various videos on Youtube that show how to regulate an automatic movement, including several specific to Seiko's 7S26.. This is not something that is for the faint of heart. It's not as easy as some people claim. It takes a steady hand and quite a bit of patience. -Don't try it with an expensive watch!

The watch has leaf/dauphine-style hands which are made of metal and have a polished finish. The minute and hour hands have Lumibrite applied to them. The watch has applied rectangular-shaped metal markers with a polished finish. Next to the markers, on the inside, they each have a luminous dot which helps with legibility in the dark. The catch however is that the lume on this watch isn’t great, but at the same time, that is not a huge issue seeing its purpose.

The ref. SNZG13K1 is paired with a three-piece link stainless steel bracelet. The ref. SNZG15K1 is an identical timepiece, but mounted on a textile strap. Both versions start at around 180 USD. The watch has Seiko’s proprietary Hardlex crystal. At this price point, this can be expected from Seiko. The round bezel formed out of the top section simulates a third layer. The case's sleek lines and tiered geometry contribute significantly to the SNK803's visual appeal. Leather strap watches tend to fit without a problem for most wearers. However, watches fitted with metal bracelets often need adjusting to get the perfect fit. It is indeed a small watch, 36.5 mm; be aware of that. It's cute as a button, and not much bigger. I have to adjust a bit after wearing this watch to a feeling that my other watches are clownishly large. As is common with affordable watches, the bracelet is the part of the watch that has been compromised with the most. It has some rattle and doesn’t feel completely robust, but it works and it is quite comfortable on the wrist. It also looks great with the watch.
