Cancer can develop in many parts of the eye. The most common form of eye cancer is intraocular melanoma, which first affects the eye’s pigment cells. Compared to other skin cancers, intraocular melanoma is rare.The human eye is a sensory organ, part of the sensory nervous system, that reacts to visible light and allows humans to use visual information for various purposes including seeing things, keeping balance, and maintaining circadian rhythm. Changing the curvature of the lens is carried out by the ciliary muscles surrounding the lens; this process is known as "accommodation".
