Thanks everyone for your comments. Had a breakthrough today by using nipple shields. Baby is feeding well on both breasts which will hopefully allow my nipples to heal, and my really sore boob has massively reduced in size too after 2-3 feeds. However no exactly how you feel as I had the same, and after a few tearful days I came to conclusion bottle feeding was my only option. The starter bottles only have an hour on them from the bottle but in the early days I used to tip what wasnt needed into a sterilised bottle and pop in the fridge for later. I understand how frustrating it can be my 6eknold has just been diagnosed with tongue tie and I'm so so sore, lansinoh has been my best friend until now, his latch has become so much stronger and I'm ready to give up and can't wait soon enough for the referral to come through. If you are set on breastfeeding please don't be put off, it was a roller coaster for me too, in the beginning.
