This review won't be completed without me mentioning one of the best parts, maybe even the best part, of the entire book: the character development.

So different to anything I've read by Sanderson but it was incredible and is my favourite of all six Mistborn books! Bands of Mourning" is a misleading name, probably to prevent people from finding it; it is actually a spearhead.

Unable to resist the mystery, Waxillium Ladrian is recruited to travel south to the city of New Seran to investigate . This is my favourite in the Alloy era, lots of twists and turns, amazing locations and lots of lovable new characters that I can't wait to read more about them in the final book. The amount of Investiture was such that Marasi actually saw the Mists emanating from her when she used it, [3] and Wax believes that his abilities are like the strong Allomancy of old while he is using it. Often when talking about God or gods in this context a theological entity that is omnipotent/omnipresent/omniscient isn't in play.

After the events of „Shadows of Self“, Wax is still mad at Harmony and doesn’t want anything to do with him. I should deck you right in your grin,” he grumbled as he joined the still-smiling Wayne on the catwalk. After I first read the last few sentences and I didn't quite understand what happened, so I just shrugged and read it again (few times actually). Check out my YouTube channel where I show my instant reactions upon finishing reading fantasy books. They do learn, however, that there is a strange project going on in the nearby town of Dulsing, connected to the Set.The characters are among some of my favorites, and I was shocked by how much of the last part of the story I had forgotten.

Unlike his sister Telsin, he struggles to adapt to their ways, and when he discovers and kills a Terris murderer whom the Terris failed to apprehend, he decides to depart the village. But on a more personal level their conversation really brings out some of Wax's deeply held troubles with a deep compassion and understanding. Normal is just a setting on the dishwasher: "They're going after the rest of the train," Wax said, pointing. Keeping true to his own laws, Sanderson expands on the metallurgic magic system of Scadrial by going deeper into the concepts and introducing cool, new and modern ways of applying Allomancy, Feruchemy and Hemalurgy.Harmony, while maintaining what he did was necessary, if painful, allows Wax to work through all his hurt and pain and come to a revelation naturally that allows the healing process to begin.

I won't bother to rehash the story since that isn't my style and it has been done in many other places much better than I could hope to manage. One such is Waxillium Ladrian, a rare Twinborn who can Push on metals with his Allomancy and use Feruchemy to become lighter or heavier at will. Marasi realizes that the temple is a decoy, and the real bands have been reforged into a metal spearhead on a statue outside the temple. Secondly, there is a lot of characters growth going on here with Steris having ample opportunity to really shine and be part of the action in wonderful ways.Steris Harms: Waxillium's betrothed, a moderately wealthy noblewoman who has a reputation for being a bore. The best book so far in Mistborn Era 2 still doesn't come close to reaching the heights of Mistborn Era 1. There is the threat of civil war in the air as the cities outside of Elendil resent the taxes and controls that are imposed on them. At New Seran, Wax attends a party held by prominent noblewoman Lady Kelesina Shores, after acquiring a strange coin and partially uncovering a conspiracy Kelesina is involved in.
