I thought this book was silly and beyond that insulting in its treatment of depression and suicide. Having said that, it was a lot better than any book I've ever written (none). Still...ugh. A lot of thrillers focus on the twists and turns, and because of that, the characters end up being flat. Here, that is not the case. I loved reading about both Beatrice and Tess, and I loved how their bond was always strong, no matter how different they were. This is one of those rare thrillers that got me really emotional, and I cared more for the characters, than the mystery - and I think that is why I was really moved and shaken at the end, when I found out what was really going on.
