Eddie Howe admits Newcastle may have to sell players this week to protect the future of the club with the Magpies at their FFP limit. Generally speaking, in spite of the lack of sparkling prose, the momentum of United’s triumphs are entertaining enough to keep the reader engaged. He works for Sky Sports who from 1992 have stopped the poor man from watching terrestrial football on TV. The book is a 4/5 to United fans because of the in depth view it provides into the grooming of the class of 92 and the ethos of Manchester United.

As a United fan it's also kind of amusing to get to the end of the book where Neville gives his views on what was then Sir Alex Ferguson's pending retirement and stresses how the club must do certain things, must avoid certain mistakes, and in doing so lay the groundwork for a successful future. Gary Neville will never be anyone's favourite player probably not even his dads but this book is actually pretty good. Readers may be tired of reading this in my reviews, but the thing with an auto(biography) is that there are two types of ratings that spring to mind - one for the subject and the other for how well does the book portray the subject. Gary has a very matter of fact view, which can sometimes come across as a bit blunt, and possibly a touch arrogant. This Swiss cuckoo (ha) got the biggest decision of his life absolutely wrong and we lost because of him.Personal, passionate and frank account of how Gary believes football lost its soul and what steps can be taken to get it back. You could see from this why he would become one of the most respected football pundits in the country.

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.Neville took aim at the lack of pre-match focus on the chaos outside the Stade de France in Paris, after Liverpool supporters were tear-gassed by the police. Gary Neville will always be a die-hard Red and in a time when footballers wages play a massive part in where they play, it's not too often you can say that of a footballer, but Gary is red through and through and always will be and Red is a brilliant insight into the man himself. Eddie Howe admits Newcastle may have to sell players this week to protect the future of the club with the. It was an easy enough read talking about Neville's youth, his time at Manchester United and on his England campaigns.

If readers are looking for intellectual literature from professional footballers they are clearly looking in the wrong area. His football punditry is excellent, insightful, and he displays a sense of humour we never knew he had. Including stories from his playing career and insight into some of the biggest footballing decisions in recent history this is a birds-eye view of the game today and how the landscape has changed over the years.
