Description

While the Hori Force Feedback Racing Wheel DLX does not have class-leading force feedback, it does offer the fundamental immersive upgrade that every “sim” style racing game fan needs to experience. This is, according to Thrustmaster, exclusive to the game, and is why the T-GT has a specific mode just for this title.

There’s the two-pedal board, the wheel base that houses the feedback motors and the wheel itself: it is not fixed. For the last few months, I’ve been testing this wheel out on everything from DiRT Rally to Assetto Corsa, to see just how good it is. Whether Fanatec or Thrustmaster is the better racing wheel brand will ultimately come down to your personal tastes and budget.A Thrustmaster T150 will indicate when your car is about to lose traction just like a T-GT, but the way this is relayed is subtler and more detailed. With a 28cm diameter the wheel is a little smaller than a genuine race car’s steering wheel, but still larger than other ‘kid-sized’ sim racing wheels. As soon as you have put your brand new wheel together, you need to attach it to a suitable sim rig or stable desk. If you’re likely to get a shifter in the future, or like the idea of a GT Sport steering wheel, it’s great – but if not, the T300RS is still a great purchase.

If you’re a racing fan, it’s something you should experience, and we can confirm that the Thrustmaster T300 RS is the real deal. Wheels like the Thrustmaster T-GT aren’t just singular products, but accessory platforms, making the decision all the more important.

My main gripe about the T300 is that that they are simply incapable of maintaining strong forces and after extended play the T300 inevitably falls into safe mode and cuts the strength of the force feedback. Thanks to its direct link to the brushless motor, the system removes the possible presence of any dead zones and decreases uncomfortable jolting, without detracting from the power with which effects are transmitted to the user, for optimal realism in all racing environments. If you're looking for similar racing wheels, you might also be interested in the Thrustmaster T300 RS, the Logitech G923 Trueforce and the Thrustmaster TMX Pro. Most existing wheels don’t work properly with the PS4 because the console requires an extra authentication security chip to be present in any accessories used with it, according to spokespeople from MadCatz and Logitech.
