Made in Germany these lamps provide the perfect balance of 7% UV-B and 17% UV-A for D3 production and regulation. The Shade Dweller UV Lamp has a 12 month lamp life.

This full-spectrum bulb is just 8w T5 (30cm/12″), so is very energy efficient and helps to provide essential Vit D3, and has the standard Arcadia 12 month lamp life. Height The German engineered 8W lamp produces a high quality, crisp and very stable UV rich light for one whole year of use. For far too long Crepuscular animals have not had dedicated lighting systems, Shade Dweller seeks to right this wrong.Perfect for species in Ferguson Zones 1-2. Arcadia Shade Dweller Kits come in two size options, the Pro T5 and Mini T5, both coming with an 8W ShadeDweller bulb. The only difference between each kit is the size of the bulb and the kit as a whole. Both kits include a fitting kit, reflector and can act as dedicated lighting systems for standard-sized enclosures, however, the Pro T5 UVB kit is better suited to a large wooden vivarium while the Mini T5 is better for a smaller glass vivarium. What are crepuscular species?Being longer and in the case of Royal/Ball pythons, more robust also, it is important to increase the size of area of illumination (projection zone), to allow good photo and thermoregulation, which helps to ensure access to full colour vision and the ability to self-regulate D3 levels. This will allow snakes to move and behave naturally, seeking out areas of energy to use and to explore without the risk of them being exposed to higher levels of UV than is safe for them. This is a risk with the more powerful HO-T5 lamps when used in reduced height enclosures and with species that can easily climb. The Arcadia range of products have been designed using the best that science and technology can offer, to allow keepers to provide for their pets in a safe, effective and wild-like way.Lighting and heating systems used by professionals and zoos all over the globe together with an all-natural range of wholesome products, Supplements and foods, which fully compliment the cycles and processes allowed for by exposure to light.

The Arcadia Pro T5 UVB and Mini T5 UVB Shadedweller range are specially designed terrarium and vivarium lighting kits that provide essential uv energy beneath them for crepuscular species. These modern reptile-keeping kits provide UV-rich light with 7% UVB along with a lower 17% UVA, which has been designed specifically with crepuscular species in mind. The bulb used in the ProT5 UVB kit is an 8W T5 (30cm/12") full-spectrum bulb, so it is very energy efficient for a dedicated lighting system and helps to provide essential vitamin D3. What is the difference between the ProT5 and Mini T5? This Arcadia D3 Reptile T5 UVB ShadeDweller is a 7% T5 bulb that produces UV-rich light that delivers essential UV energy beneath to drive the biological processes within your reptiles and other exotic pets. The Arcadia Shadedweller provides 7% UVB along with a lower 17% UVA, which has been designed specifically as a modern reptile-keeping tool with crepuscular species in mind. The bulb has been specifically designed to be used with the ProT5 and MiniT5 Arcadia Shadedweller dedicated lighting systems which feature a specially curved reflector to get as much light as possible. Which animals is this light suitable for? All recommendations are based on lamp used with a suitable reflector, fitted on the inside of an enclosure. We have covered around 140 species of reptile, amphibian and invertebrate and will be updating and adding to it over time. The Arcadia ShadeDweller-Max is the latest evolution in the ShadeDweller range. A brand new 14 watt 22”/55cm Full-spectrum+ UV-B lamp and ProT5 Kit. Using the very latest in German lamp technology we have created yet another brand new lamp for reptiles in SO-T5 that draws just 14 watts but is over twice as bright as our 8w ShadeDweller lamp. This increase in brightness or ‘lumen output’ includes the whole spectrum of the lamp, even UV. As such to hit the target UVI of 1.00-1.50 at 12”/30 to basking, this clever lamp only requires 2.5% UV-B within the total spectrum of the lamp. So, if you were wondering why the ShadeDweller 8w lamp has 7% UV-B and ShadeDweller Max only 2.5% UV-B, to achieve a very similar result, then this is your answer, the lamp itself is more powerful over the whole spectrum of the lamp, so to reach optimal UVI at the target distance the % if UV-B is reduced, the resulting UVI however is very similar in both cases. Arcadia ProT5 ShadeDweller Max: Wattage

The Arcadia ShadeDweller 7% Mini T5 Kits are stand alone units and ready to plug and play, though they can be linked together to create a larger unit for more spacious areas, up to 10 units can be put together. The easy to use Pro T5 Kit can be fixed easily inside a vivarium or even hung within an enclosure (where safe to do so). Its sleek design and specially curved reflector will ensure that you use less space but project as much light forward as possible. The MiniT5 is best for internal fitting, in more shallow enclosures where the light is located closer to the animal, at a distance of around 20 – 30cm.

Arcadia Shade Dweller Kits come in two size options, the Pro T5 or Mini T5, both coming with a 8w ShadeDweller bulb. This is a risk with the more powerful HO-T5 lamps when used in reduced height enclosures and with species that can easily climb. Arcadias ShadeDweller Pro Arboreal provides the ideal solution for providing full-spectrum UVB lighting for arboreal and climbing species, who tend to climb up much closer to the light unit that terrestrial species. Long and includes the Arcadia "ShadeDweller" UV lamp (8 watts Important note from manufacturer: Please make sure to plug the power cord into the fixture BEFORE plugging it into the wall. UVI measurements have been measured at the very centre of the strongest point using a solar meter 6.5. A stainless steel mesh can reduce UVI by 30%+. UV Indexes stated without mesh. The ShadeDweller Arboreal has been designed to be safe and effective to use inside arboreal vivarium's, or over standard meshed topped vivarium's, giving the ideal UVI and also allowing inhabitants to benefit in full from activated colour vision and the naturally effective D3 cycle. This uses a tried and tested 2.4% UVB, 12% UVA high ShadeDweller-Arboreal lamp, so you can be sure of providing a safe and effective UV Index even if the animal travels high into its environment. The lamp is energy efficient and measures 12”/30cm in length. Perfect for creating usable areas of ‘light and shade’ for the accurate and safe self-regulation of the essential D3 cycles. ShadeDweller-Max has been designed with the needs of captive snakes in mind, but this should not limit its use, it is just as much a powerful tool for some lizards and amphibians living in larger enclosures that fall into Zone 1-2 and are able to safely climb to self-regulate.

It is essential your reptile is under the correct amount of UV light, this lighting guide will show you how to fit your UV system correctly. We have based the UVI measurements on independent measurements of our UVB fluorescent lamps using a SolarMeter 6.5. This measures the part of the light that is used by animals for vitamin D3 production. The Arcadia ShadeDweller UVB light is equipped with a highly functional but removable curved reflector that ensures a UV-rich basking area directly beneath the unit. The ShadeDweller ProT5 arrives with the Arcadia Reptile 17% UV-A, 7% UV-B ShadeDweller™ 8 Watt lamp, switch, fittings kit, a single power cable and a free ‘link cable’ to allow you to run up to 10 kits from one power source. ShadeDweller has an output of around 400 lumens and maintains a colour of 6k Kelvin, while ensuring a crisp and very natural CRI of over 90. The ShadeDweller Max is an improved version of the previous Arcadia ShadeDweller. The ShadeDweller range caters to crepuscular animals, who need less UVB than basking species, however, there are a lot of different species that fall into this category. The original ShadeDweller is designed to cater to small enclosures (2ft-3ft) of crepuscular species. The ShadeDweller Max can be used over a much larger area (3ft-4ft) meaning that it can supply light to both small and large species. Some crepuscular species prefer a more diffused arboreal light, for those we have the ShadeDweller Arboreal. Why do I need to buy a UV light for my reptile enclosure?
