Description

At first the plot showed similarities to that of Bakuman, as it had two friends working hard creating the best manga they could make, however throughout the story the narrative became quite ambiguous. The biggest gripe I have is the character designs. Fujino and Kyomoto look slightly different as kids because they have different hair-dos but otherwise are identical. Then there’s the time jump and it’s not immediately clear who we’re following, particularly as they now look like the other character but aren’t. Fujimoto is a gifted artist but he really needs to make his characters more distinct than simply giving one slightly longer hair than the other, particularly if you’re then going to give a different character the exact same cut as the other character later on down the line! It’s so unnecessarily confusing. The idea of duality resonates throughout the book, from the duality of the two girls to the spiritual duality of the act of creation, and through to a duality of fates. There are two sides to everything, mostly reflected in Fujino and Kyomoto. For their published work, they use the pen name Kyo Fujino, a merging of their two names, signifying how the two kind of complete one another in their work but also in their relationship. So much of this book is built on this yin/yang type of give and take, seeing these different aspects from two different perspectives, starting just with Fujino and Kyomoto and how different they are when they first meet face to face.

Kyomoto stopped attending school from a very young age, apparently due to anxiety and agoraphobia, and took up drawing to pass the time. It's also shown how Fujino's dedication to making manga isolates her from her friends and family. After Kyomoto's death, Fujino questions if art ruined their lives, and if her friendship led to Kyomoto's attending art school and being killed. Comic Natalie (in Japanese). Natasha, Inc. Not that that’s a bad thing - I’m ok with both, so long as it’s balanced, which it is for the most part - but Fujimoto is a very hands-off storyteller, writing the bare minimum and relying heavily on the imagery to tell his stories for him. It’s laudable - I think that’s the way comics storytelling should be done to some degree - but in the case of the second half of the story, it’s unclear what’s going on or why. It took me a few re-reads to figure out what Fujimoto was doing but I got it, though whether you believe it happened or not is up to the reader. Yes, it’s one of those “impressionistic” endings where you have to figure out for yourself what happened - I don’t dislike those but I know some readers detest them so be warned. a b c 【第66回】担当作家 藤本タツキ先生Q&A![[66] Writer Tatsuki Fujimoto Q&A]. Creator Thumbprint: Fujimoto's love of movies and especially the movie theater experience makes its obligatory appearance when Fujino and Kyomoto's day out in the city includes going to the movies. I love it because of that, but I can see it totally affecting his own self-esteem as an artist when he was young. And so he writes Fujino, the main character of the story. While her friends love her manga because it's clever and fun, she gets discouraged when another

This was a blast to read for me and many others as a massive Fujimoto fan it was amazing to see his take on a very serious and in a way "normal" story and this just further prooved to me that he can write almost any genre masterfully With this said, I practically already said that I enjoyed it so much, but speaking of the characters, I still felt them traced from lepiculas already seen before. I was a little bit confused in the middle of the end, and when I continued reading it (gently scrolling) to the point where I understand what Fujimoto Sensei is trying to tell the readers That moment I realized and talking to myself why tf did I choose a public coffee shop to read such an emotional manga, and I'm trying so hard to hold my tears not to fall in front of people and I did it,good on me. That just makes this story all the more affecting.
