The next step is called “weeding.” Basically, weeding just means removing any excess vinyl from around your design that you do not want to be transferred to your final product. How to Avoid Wasting Vinyl when Weeding The two offsets should be just barely smaller than the design. This approach helps blend the design’s edges, but if you want to have all of the design on white and more visible, set the Offsets to 0.

From the industry leading Hotflex to speciality products like Gem Flex and Pearl Flex, we have a massive selection of colours.Next, trim and weed the HTV design to remove any excess material. This will ensure that the design is a perfect fit for the HTV. Then, place the HTV onto the heat press and apply heat-resistant tape to the edges to ensure that it stays in place. Sublimation involves heating sublimation dye until it reaches a gaseous state, where it’s then infused into a polymer-coated surface. Sublimation dye is translucent, so while it’s super vibrant, it doesn’t show up very well on fabric other than light-colored garments made of mostly polyester. Use the same material settings as before for the clear HTV and the printed design. For the white vinyl mat, change the Base Material to "Everyday Iron-On" and choose "More" pressure for cleaner cuts. Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) has revolutionized the art of creating personalized items. With the rise of DIY enthusiasts and hobbyists, HTV has become a must-have material for anyone looking to create custom clothing, bags, and other accessories. The popularity of Cricut machines has further increased the demand for HTV, as it provides an easy and efficient way to make intricate designs. Something easily done with our HTVRONT White HTV. A: Each sublimation project will be different, but for THIS project you’ll press your clear HTV at 385° F (196° C) for 30 seconds to apply it to your shirt, and then sublimate at the same temperature for 55 seconds.

TIP: Since we’re using the Print Then Cut feature on our Cricut, I highly recommend you calibrate your Cricut before beginning this project. See my Print Then Cut Calibration video to learn how. Use the Layers Panel to make sure you have the new layer selected and change the Operation to "Basic Cut." The shape will automatically change to gray, which is fine. White T-Shirts to sublimate – I tested a Gildan Heavy Cotton T-Shirt, Gildan Hammer Cotton T-Shirt, and a Gildan Women’s Softstyle Cotton T-Shirt Your Heat Press TEMPERATURE should be 150°C for 12 – 15 seconds, and remember to REMOVE CARRIER: Hot on polyester and Medium on Cotton. NOTE: Your printer’s controls will appear but might be hidden behind Cricut Design Space. Minimize your Cricut window to find it. It may look different depending on your printer, computer, and software. Use my settings as a guideline, but adjust as needed to fit your tools.

As a general rule, if the surface is hard and smooth (such as walls, bottles, signs and mirrors), self-adhesive vinyl is the correct choice. However, if your surface is soft and can withstand heat (such as t-shirts, hoodies and bags), Heat Transfer Vinyl is the best choice. However, there’s no exception to this – When applying onto wood, Heat Transfer Vinyl often gives a better bond than self-adhesive vinyl providing it can be heat-applied onto. One of the most important aspects of sublimation on white HTV is the materials you use. When it comes to ink and paper, it’s essential to invest in high-quality products. Sublimation ink is designed to work with specific papers, so it’s important to choose a compatible combination. We hope that our heat press guide has been an informative source of help in you choosing the right heat press for your business needs. To print the design, start by selecting the image you want to print and open it in your preferred editing software. Make any necessary adjustments, such as resizing or adjusting the colors. Once you are happy with the design, you can print it onto sublimation paper. Be sure to select the correct printer settings to ensure that the design is printed correctly. Transferring the Design onto the White HTV

A: Nope. See the question above, and remember that the only vinyl suitable for sublimation is clear sublimation HTV, white sublimation HTV, white glitter HTV, holographic HTV, and glow-in-the-dark HTV. Are you tired of settling for generic, plain, and boring apparel? Look no further! Our top-notch Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV - Iron On Vinyl) is here to revolutionize your creativity and upgrade your wardrobe like never before. Most Heat Transfer Vinyls and custom heat transfers are manufactured for use with commercial heat presses which are able to maintain a consistent temperature and even pressure which are both something that the Cricut EasyPress struggles to provide due to it being aimed at the hobby market and is rarely used for retail/commercial use. Based on this, if you’re looking to supply the finished goods for retail sale we’d strongly recommend looking at purchasing a commercial heat press to ensure that the heat transfer is properly bonded to the intended fabric. The final step in the printing and sublimation process is to apply heat and pressure with a heat press. This will transfer the design from the sublimation paper onto the white HTV. Once the design has been transferred, remove the sublimation paper and allow the HTV to cool. One of the most frustrating issues that can arise during sublimation on white HTV is a faded or blurry design. This can happen for a number of reasons, including using low-quality sublimation ink or paper, printing the design at too low of a resolution, or not applying enough heat or pressure during the transfer process. Press the design at 385° F (196° C) for 55 seconds using medium to firm pressure just with your hands. When it comes to sublimating on white heat transfer vinyl (HTV), the printing and sublimation process is a crucial part of the overall process. In this section, we will take a closer look at the steps involved in printing and sublimating on white HTV. Printing the Design on Sublimation Paper

Effortless Application: Don't have professional equipment? No problem! Our Iron on vinyl is specifically designed for easy iron-on application. Simply cut your desired design, place it on your fabric, and iron it on. Voila! Achieve professional-looking results in minutes without any hassle! When the time is up, lift the EasyPress straight upward. Remove the butcher paper but wait until the clear HTV has completely cooled before removing the film, about 5-10 minutes - this is a COLD peel. When the time is up, lift the EasyPress straight upward. Remove the butcher paper but wait until the HTV has completely cooled before removing the carrier sheet, about 5-10 minutes - this is a COLD peel.If your cut design is considerably smaller than the piece of vinyl you cut it from, then before weeding, I recommend trimming off that extra vinyl. You can just use a pair of scissors to cut around your design. This allows you to use the rest of your vinyl piece for another project. (In my weeding images below, I actually cut a rectangle around my design with my Silhouette first and and then trimmed off the extra vinyl with scissors after weeding. Either way works!) Tips for Weeding Heat Transfer Vinyl Finally, one of the often-overlooked tips for sublimation on white HTV is preheating your vinyl before sublimation. Preheating your vinyl can help to remove any moisture or wrinkles that may interfere with the transfer process. A: Use my free subliflower designto see how your colors look! It’s Design #385 in my resource library! Once the iron on vinyl has been properly applied it is ready for wearing, using, and laundering. Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before washing. Once it has cured, it can be washed and dried. For best results, wash inside out with cold water and hang to dry or tumble dry on low. More specialist ones like EconoReflex Reflective HTV is a high reflective HTV product, manufactured using glass micro-balls technology and is EN471 European safety standard compliant. It’s recommended for heat transfer applying onto workwear which require more than 100 lumen luminescence and is suitable for application onto both coated (waterproof) and uncoated fabric types.
