Place the Title Deeds card next to their matching spaces. Each player chooses the token and place it on GO. Your turn is now over. You can still collect rent, bid during auctions, buy Hotels and trade while you are in Jail. You may also catch cheaters and cheat (see CHEATING), but you may not play Chance or Community Chest cards (except for Get Out of Jail Free). Is someone else already In Jail? When you land on an unowned Property, you must buy it or auction it. (Did you notice that Bond Street is free?!)

As you read these rules, you'll also notice that there's no mortgaging and there aren't any Houses, just Hotels, because cheaters like to start at the top. If you can pull one off without getting caught, you'll be rewarded. If you get caught, you'll be penalized, of course! If you ran out of money and can't pay someone. Then, you will be needed to sell properties to The Bank for the face value or to another player for an agreed-upon price. If you can't raise the money to pay off a debt. Then, you are bankrupt and out of the game. Give the player you owe all the cards you have left. If you owe The Bank, then all of your properties will be auctioned off. Perhaps you know that your friends cheat and have adopted the attitude of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’. Monopoly: Spongebob Squarepants Edition uses the same rules as regular Monopoly but with the older breakdown of bank notes:

Complete a cheat to get a reward, but fail a cheat and pay the consequences! No houses in this edition - only hotels. The pretend handcuff unit that may leave players "chained" to the board is a fun addition.

This change made the Monopoly money distribution universal across the globe, bringing the United States in line with the United Kingdom, which has always used just 16 notes for each player at the start of the game. If they’d find it funny, go ahead! If they’d disown you forever, then maybe think twice before cheating. Maybe you find Monopoly boring and want to entertain yourself by seeing how much you can get away with cheating? They're based in convenient locations including supermarkets, newsagents and train stations. Plus they're often open late and on Sundays. You can be sent to Jail for all the same reasons as in regular Monopoly, but you can also be sent there if you're caught cheating.

When you land on a Property that someone else owns, the owner must ask you for rent. If they do, you must pay the rent shown on the Property's Title Deed card. If they don't ask before the next player rolls the dice, you don't have to pay!
