The Astra used to be thought of as a rather elderly kind of car but now it’s nudging its competitors in the class with its revamped image and better overall design and build. The SXi Sport Hatch has lower set suspension that gives it less bounce to match the engine performance along with traction and stability control. It doesn't match the Focus for fuel economy or exhaust emissions but Vauxhall have gone a very long way towards rehabilitating the Astra in the UK medium size sporty hatchback class.
