I do think this will be a big hit with most people and there are a wide variety to horrors to please the reader who likes them. You don’t need to know them too much, but in this story Gloria, a cold-hearted hitwoman, meets a strange girl with unusual powers at a service station. First of all, after reading the introduction I applaud the author for writing this collection at what must have been a difficult time.

I’ve never sampled one of CJ Tudor’s books before but I've heard a lot of good things about them, not least from Stephen King himself who is an admirer. Although I wasn’t scared by each story, they were certainly creepy and I found myself completely hooked by every single one. Out of all the stories here, this one would work the best as a novella and hopefully Tudor will consider it in the future.In Gloria we are reunited with a couple of characters we previously met in Tudor’s other books, The Taking of Annie Thorne and The Other People. Tudor gave an introduction of how the story initiated in her clever mind and I appreciated learning how a thought became a conception and then a process to writing a story. This is the most profound and, at times, philosophical story of the collection while it retains its mysterious character as Leila will assume the duties of an amateur detective when a suspected murder takes place in the ship. I had some time to kill before leaving the house and didn't want to get invested in a whole book so thought best thing to do was try this one as it had some short stories.
