That’s fine, not every game needs to, but if you’re not looking for sort of a light game you might want to look elsewhere. The small box contains a submarine, a marker for air, 6 player pieces and several ruin chips (treasure) tokens and markers. A simple two minute explanation will have everyone on board with the mechanics of the game, and after the first round (10 mins) everyone should have a good understanding of the strategy.The game’s multiple round format lets new players improve quickly, and the increased stakes each round (more points) mean that new players who pick up the game over the first round aren’t really penalised by not knowing the strategy and doing terribly in the beginning. It can be a little bit of a challenge to get your hands on a copy depending on where you are, but if you get the opportunity, try it out! It’s a bit like Uno but in this case, if you do not say you are coming back then diving deeper is where you will go. You're never quite sure if the rest of the dive crew will pick up treasure to deplete the oxygen, or if you can trust them and are able to get to the most valuable treasure.

Turning Early; It’s tempting to rush out into the depths of the ocean but remember that when you do turn back you must have enough oxygen to get back.Kind of bummed I didn’t get a chance to break it out for Thanksgiving / insert-your-favorite-holiday. Once a player is carrying treasure, their movement is slowed by one point for each treasure they carry. If you’re very close to the sub it might be worth trying to grab one of those one-pip tokens so you can just pop on the sub with some extra points. Starting from the furthest player from the sub, place tokens at the end of the path in stacks of three (you can choose how to stack your tiles if you are split between two stacks).
