The performances were excellent, the surround sound, again, was great and the blood fairly plentiful, but I felt it needed a better director (sorry, Lee) to make it shine. Not a patch on the 2013 Fede Alvarez remake IMHO, and contrary to the reviewer, I thought the opening sequence in the cabin in the woods was one of the best parts of the film, particularly with the soundtrack and way the opening titles appeared. cinematography, effective music and sound design, and a running time that doesn't wear out its welcome once it gets going.

It is more frightening than Terrifier and I want to stand and applaud and salute the all-female cast. The film stars Lily Sullivan (I Met a Girl, Barkskins), Alyssa Sutherland (New Gold Mountain, Vikings), Morgan Davies (The End, Storm Boy), Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence) and introducing Nell Fisher (Northspur).Unbeknownst to them, the building is a hotbed of demonic activity, and when Emily unwittingly performs a forbidden ritual, she unleashes a malevolent force that infects the entire structure. Evil Dead Rise Fifth entry in the 'Evil Dead' franchise, directed by Lee Cronin and starring Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan. I really enjoyed this at the cinema although I would have completely dropped the prologue and epilogue, they spoiled it a bit for me. A twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.
OPTIMUS PRIME and the AUTOBOTS take on their biggest challenge yet in this adrenaline-fueled adventure with pulse-pounding action.Most are getting this set for the 4K but if you intend on largely using both discs, then this is something to be aware of. The artwork is menacingly perfect, you get the feeling that you're in for a horrifying watch before you even get to the disc and the cover is quite literally luring and daring you to open it! levels of crush or blooming, while adjacent colors also "pop out" nicely thanks to its careful HDR grading. In "Evil Dead Rise," a captivating and terrifying horror film, a young and ambitious medical student, Emily, discovers an ancient book of occult rituals.
