About this deal

If the song is titled "Had Me a Real Good Time" is really having a real good time (5:51 that is), unquestionably. In June 2013, speaking in an interview on YouTube, Kenney Jones confirmed the band's intention to reunite with Stewart for a tour in 2014. Lane's laconic vocal has always reminded me of George Harrison and that comparison was on full display here. K., and although neither of its singles charted, the group's live appearances in support of the LP increased their profile throughout 1971 — as did Stewart's growing profile as a solo artist, solidified by the chart-topping performance of his third release, Every Picture Tells a Story. Unfortunately they never got much airplay in the States in their time and they were shamefully overlooked.

The original Small Faces would have a reunion during the mid to late 1970s with Marriott, Jones, and McLagan joined by Rick Wills on bass guitar, as Lane withdrew early due to his illness. Opening up with some acoustic slide guitar from Wood, it took awhile for 'On the Beach' to show it's true colors, but by the time Lane's whiny voice kicked in it was clear this was a nifty alt-folk number that Lane would begin to pursue in earnest when he went solo. As debut albums go, it’s strong, make no mistake about that, but it’s not until the band’s second album that they truly found their groove. On August 28, 2015, the album was reissued in remastered form on vinyl, and remastered and expanded on CD as part of the box set (along with the rest of the Faces catalogue of studio recordings) 1970–1975: You Can Make Me Dance, Sing Or Anything.

One of the prettiest ballads they ever wrote, 'Sweet 'Lady Mary' was clearly a Faces classic performance. As Rod Stewart's solo career became more successful than that of the group, the band became overshadowed by their lead singer. Faces released four studio albums and toured regularly until the autumn of 1975, although Stewart simultaneously pursued a solo recording career, and during the band’s final year Wood also toured with The Rolling Stones, whom he later joined. two live tracks (recorded at New York's Filmore East); two tracks recorded on the Rolling Stones mobile unit with the remainder being recorded at Morgan Sound Studios.

The band had a unique arrangement, as Rod Stewart had signed a separate solo recording contract with the Mercury label shortly before joining the group, which was signed to Warner Bros. A disillusioned Ronnie Lane left the band in 1973; [4] one reason given later for his departure was frustration over not having more opportunities to sing lead vocals. In 1975 Wood began working with the Rolling Stones , which brought differences between Stewart and the others to a head, and after a troubled fall US tour (with Jesse Ed Davis on rhythm guitar), in December the band announced that they were splitting. However, on the eve of the ceremony, Stewart bowed out owing to a bout of influenza and Hucknall was asked to sing in his place.

I suppose like many people I bought this album AFTER "A Nod's As Good As A Wink To A Blind Horse" and to be honest at the time, felt short-changed with the plain grey cardboard sleeve. Released in February 1971, the group's second set found the Faces further setting themselves apart from the band members' better-known previous projects: singer Rod Stewart and guitarist Ronnie Wood from the Jeff Beck Group; bassist Ronnie Lane, keyboardist Ian McLagan and drummer Kenney Jones from the Small Faces. Ooh La La is the fourth and final studio album by the English rock band Faces , released in March 1973. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). K. foursome that shared singing and songwriting duties was taken as an encouraging sign, and the Faces' drunkenly good-natured stage presence (and charmingly ragged sound) injected a fresh dose of good old-fashioned fun into rock at a time when many listeners felt it was lacking.

EX (Excellent): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. Rod's first 3 solo album's were produced while he was safe in the fold of the "Faces" often trying his new material out on audiences while on tour with them.
