The suspense is unreal and slowly unravelled, the blurb was absolutely right that you’ll never forget Flower Girls because this was undeniably genius. Rosie was considered too young to be held responsible in the death of two year old Kirstie, so was given a new identity and moved away from Laurel, with her mother and father. I really liked where this eventually took us in regards to that end reveal: but did feel that this should have been expanded on and some clarity offered regarding the Why? Of course, we are not surprised at who becomes the number one suspect when Hazel’s real identity is found out by the police and the press.

By the end of the book I had so many questions, and I love it when a novel is both rivetingly good and inspires a multitude of questions to arise in a readers mind. The sort of book that is easy to pick up and get lost in for an hour here and there or a book you can read straight through as it is only 350 pages long.Alice Clark-Platt's nightmarish and chilling psychological thriller brings back memories of the notoriously unforgettable 1993 murder of toddler Jamie Bulger by two boys. Previously known as the Great Theodore on the London stage, Barrington turns Emma's head with tales of his former glory. Each character was its own individual personality with vivid backstories and hooked you right in with how they all connected and surrounded the facts of the initial crime.

Laurel was tried and convicted, and at age 18 moved to an adult women’s prison, where she is still incarcerated. At just over halfway through my kindle told me I had 1 hour 30 left in the book, so I continued on hoping that something would change and I would feel differently.

Forced to make a difficult decision between staying loyal to her family and her roots, or pursuing fame and fortune, will she follow her heart or her head? While trying to remain a Positive Polly in the current climate, I am trying to stay away from anything too heavy or taxing and I find Historical fiction or trillers under 400 pages work well for me at the movement. Laurel ended up going to prison where she still is to this day, while Primrose was given a new identity. It’s not a new story – children committing horrific crime then years later the consequences of their actions still resonate- but Alice Clark-Platts tells it so well, with an underlying and unsettling sense of emotion that gets under your skin.

As a young girl, she dreamed of getting a cat or dog of her own until she discovered she was allergic to most of them. She is the author of several books for children, including THE FLOWER GIRL, THE RING BEAR: A FLIP-OVER BOOK and EFFIE'S IMAGE. The ages are not displayed on the activity books, the ages are just a guide so we can ensure the appropriate activities are inside the booklet. She has to learn to be kind, honest and strong, or she will vanish back into the blossom petals again. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. The characters became devices rather than fleshed out characters and because there’s some unreliable narrators involved I actually felt a little cheated with purposeful misdirection.

This book will serve as a memory book for your flower girl, while helping one of the youngest members of the bridal party better understand her wedding duties. My fist novel by Alice Clark- Platts and I found it chilling and compelling and the perfect “take your mind of the present” book that worked perfectly for me. The tale of two sisters, Laurel and Primrose who at the ages of 6 and 10 were involved in a horrendous crime and the murder of a small child, one convicted of murder and the other given a new identity.Twenty years later Laurel has been trying to get parole but is being blocked by the dead toddler's family who feel she should never be released. Primrose now has a new identity as Hazel, but whilst staying at a seaside hotel in Dorset with her fiancé and his daughter Evie, a little girl goes missing. Laurel was sent to a children's 'prison' until she reached eighteen, then she was transferred to an adult prison, where ten years later, she remains. Based on the HarperCollins book, Pinkalicious, written by Victoria Kann antd Elizabeth Kann, illustrated by Victoria Kann.
