Frequency responses are close (as expected), albeit the Joyo is less precise in the bass / low mid range and brings more noise above 15khz. With lots of preset cabs to select from you have a huge sound at your finger tips, hook it up to your favourite overdrive pedal and you are good to go. I'm less convinced by the mic sims: they appear to be mere EQing variations and the related settings have a rather subtle effect at first glance.

But it is more likely that it will do the more typical thing of 10 Hz increments to a point, then increasing step sizes as it goes up. If you’ve ever played one of these big amps, or are a fan of the tone you will feel right at home with the Golden Face, its a classic British Amp simulator. I tried one of these because I’m looking for a cab sim to use live but I was disappointed with how very noticeable the lag was between the real cabinet at the Joyo.

Now,the precision of the settings is a bit random : it depends on how fast the upper right pot is turned. There are settings for Gain and Attentuation, Q value, Low and High Pass filtering for the EQ controls. I've recorded some test tracks involving ext preamp + Joyo PA/EQ/cab/mic, then ext preamp AND amp going to the Joyo cab sim through a Behringer Ultra G, then each real amp miked with a SM57. For anyone who doesn't want to pony up big money for an A-Tier unit like a Fractal or Kemper, this little box breathes new life into older effects boxes (who's cab sims were terrible in that era as the tech just hadn't evolved yet). I'll try to get a replacement or a Joyo Cab Box if this works best with my rig, despite more latency than the NUX, or save for an Iridium.

The JOYO Oxford Sound guitar effect pedal is a representation of the vintage amp tone from the UKs most orange looking Guitar amplifier manufacturing company. In THIS case, the difference of latency is "compensated" by the signal path inside the amp and the two IR loaders sound in the same time than the real cab.
