About this deal

It is unfortuante that there are in my listening audible places in Naked where there seems like relatively noticeable overload to the point of over-saturation and even light distortion. I realize the crux of some or many of the reasons I prefer Naked to all other LIB's run counter to a number of what the band's intentions or plans at the time were. Includes a 12" x 12" 20-page booklet and an additional 7" disc with 20 song-fragments: "Fly On The Wall": "A Unique Insight Into The Beatles At Work In Rehearsal And In The Studio During January 1969". And the incompetence of the character he played doomed him to be typecast forevermore playing the kind of inept characters in movies no one really likes that much. You may not dig the orchestra in that section on the Spector version, but you have to admit, that organ solo is bad.

Like “I’ve Got a Feeling” – mixing the two versions rather than just using the first take makes this something very different than simply a de-Spectorized Let It Be, and wasn’t that the point to begin with?

And in the film version, Paul also plays a gorgeous relative minor chord under the last word “door”, instead of the home major chord, which for me gives the lyric an extra touch of melancholy, regret and wistfulness. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the original version of “I’ve Got a Feeling” is the best, I agree with you, that whoop does add a lot to the song. The producers spat in our faces with the “Fly on the Wall” disc, and if I ever get the chance I honestly plan to spit back.

Let It Be" – a remix of take 27A from 31 January 1969 used for George Martin's single version and Spector's album version, with edit pieces including Harrison's guitar solo from take 27B edited in. but they didn't fit comfortably with the concept of a straight album", according to album remixer Allan Rouse. Instead of several discs of music from these tapes we should have got, we got 20 minutes of snatches of bits of songs and mumbled conversations that sound like they were assembled by someone with severe ADHD, who after a couple of seconds went “OK, on to something else now”.It was obvious that, at times during these sessions (especially after they moved out of the Twickenham movie studio and into their premises in Savile Row - and added Billy Preston, who may have had a calming influence), they actually appeared to get on quite well.
