Not to mention our kidlet figured all that out without the help of a latch board so it seems inevitable even without the toy. Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. The items on the board are all external latches and hinges, which isn’t the best way to keep kids out of things anyway (at least we prefer internal ones they can’t access) – so we don’t use anything like the latches on this board to keep Clara safe that she could then bust through like a criminal. So far for the past week she has played with it every day for about ten minutes (that’s her max with most toys, so she’ll play with her dollhouse 10 mins, play with her latchboard for 10 mins, do play doh for ten more, etc).

Inspired by the Montessori teaching method, this toy is designed to optimally develop motor skills in children. I have a 9 month old who is busy testing out her fine motor skills, this board works well with where she is at now and as she will grow.Once children have mastered opening the different locks, behind each door of this Montessori-style activity board is a detailed scene.

This board is good for a variety of ages - my son is 11 months old and loves opening and closing the doors. I bought this for a 3 year old grandson when his mom suggested some type of activity that wouldn't make a mess for her to clean up. Undo a latch, swing open the numbered door, and count on fun when the picture beneath is revealed on this wooden play board. I purchased this toy along with several others for my 18 month old grandson for Christmas and some to stay at my house. This is the third one of these we have purchased, two were gifts and I couldn't wait to get one for my 2 year old daughter!

My twins (31 months - boy and girl) have played with it extensively so far with no signs of slowing.
