About this deal

The button now serves as a functionless fidget toy, which in a way I have come to accept as handy in its own way. Design and core components are basic, but you get a really nice screen here, even if it is limited to 60Hz as well as clean software. Another important parameter is the processor frequency, which indicates how many instructions the phone can process in one second. The only additions here are Motorola's Moto Actions - which are often-useful gesture controls, and a few other minor tweaks, but the additions are easy enough to ignore and don't take up much space. Her specialty is everyday electronics, be that a cheap laptop for uni or an easy-to-use smartphone for an elderly parent.

This is a fair bit larger than my old phone, which makes it incompatible with just about all of my pockets (other than coat pockets) I can't really fault it for this though, as it's still smaller than many of it's competitors and most of the more expensive phones.

This is all powered by a generous 5000 mAh battery that will definitely get you through 24 hours and, with reduced use, up to 2 days. This isn’t a flashy phone, but one that largely gets the job done if you set your expectations appropriately. We check how well your pictures and videos come out on both the front and rear lenses, looking at colour accuracy, flash uniformity and the quality of the zoom. It’s suitably thin and light and I like the Mineral Grey colour I’ve tested even if it is a tad plain.

Similarly, heavy-duty gaming can take a while to get going, and the phone can get quite hot when doing so, but it works. It comes complete with Google Lens and various different modes including spot colour which has been around for a while, allowing you to pick a colour out leaving everything else monochrome. It would be nice here as the faster refresh makes using the phone smoother, especially when scrolling and gaming, but it seems Motorola has focused on photography instead.

If the performance, gaming, battery life, and software are more important to you, then choose the Motorola Moto G50. Having graduated from Swansea University with a degree in Media and Communication Studies, and later with a diploma from Staffordshire University with a post graduate diploma in Computer Games Design, she's written for a huge number of publications, including T3, FitandWell, Top Ten Reviews, Eurogamer, NME and many more. Also it occasionally loses internet connection, again the only way to solve this is to restart the phone. There's also minimal water resistance, with a mere IPX2 rating meaning you don't want it anywhere near water if you can help it. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Despite our best efforts, there are some circumstances where your broken Motorola Moto G31 might actually be completely beyond saving - if your device is bent for example, or has its internals sticking out of the case, then it might be declared "Beyond Economic Repair" - and the best we can do is make sure that your handset gets properly recycled in a way that is safe, and good for the planet. That means that if your phone’s condition matches the information that you sent us, you’ll get money in your bank account the very same day we receive it.Compare your selected model with other alternatives and give your decision on the best phone a solid base with our comprehensive overview. Due to technical constraints, Kelkoo cannot guarantee the complete accuracy, nor the completeness of the information provided by the merchants. I hate big phones, which is a stark contrast to the direction the phone market has been going in for the past decade.
