Flipping to Side B, Classic Rock from Meat Loaf and Electric Light Orchestra is joined by timeless hits from Billy Joel, Gerry Rafferty, Dave Edmunds and the debut ‘Stop Your Sobbing’ by Pretenders. NOW is proud to present the next instalment in our ongoing ‘Yearbook’ series – and taking our longest trip back in Pop history so far – 50 Years – with 47 tracks on 3 LPs, pressed on Red Vinyl, to celebrate a landmark year of Pop singles… NOW – Yearbook 1973. Between these are massive hits from Lionel Richie, Rufus And Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Alison Moyet, Howard Jones and Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Side B begins with Bruce Springsteen’s classic ‘Tougher Than The Rest’ and the beautiful live version of ‘Candle In The Wind’ from Elton John, plus huge hits from Aztec Camera, Deacon Blue, The Adventures, and Scritti Politti before closing with one of Sting’s most enduring tracks ‘Fragile’.Inevitably, this has meant that a huge number of fabulous tracks have not been included on the LP versions… plus NOW Music have also released an accompanying CD ‘Extra’ for each of the years. Since June 2021 we have presented five editions of the NOW – Yearbook series that span the first half of the 1980s, and six including the Yearbook 1979 edition. Full tracklistings for both can be found below and these will both be (re)released on 18 August 2023.

The first side closes with sophisticated Pop from Wings, before the peerless 'The Man With The Child In His Eyes' from Kate Bush. Massive tracks from Level 42 and Five Star are up next and are followed by two of the year’s biggest floor-fillers: ‘We Don’t Have To…’ from Jermaine Stewart and Lionel Richie’s international smash ‘Dancing On The Ceiling’, before closing with one of 1986’s greatest vocals from Whitney Houston on her defining cover of ‘Greatest Love Of All’.
