Because of this, I can see why Chul Min would be desperate to get Jung Hwa the surgery that would save her sight, before it’s too late. It’s true that Jung Hwa’s sunny disposition requires some suspension of disbelief, but it’s so in line with the inspiringly wholesome heroines of Classic Hallyu, and Han Hyo Joo is so sweet and appealing in the role, that I’m happy to roll with it.

Two great characters, lovely writing of two people who are “hiding in plain sight” finally getting together. Not only did Frankie, our autistic heroine, speak to me in a unique way, but I downright loved Ren, our red-headed, Shakespeare-loving, hockey-playing hero. I definitely have a soft spot for both So Ji Sub and Han Hyo Joo, and I ended up enjoying this one pretty well myself. After waiting years for the right time to make his move, Ren learns Frankie plans to leave the team to pursue a new career. The only problem is, Jung Hwa had known Chul Min only while she had been blind, and doesn’t recognize him on sight the way he recognizes her.Thatcher's policies have put husbands and sons out of work, and the city's notorious drugs epidemic is waiting in the wings. I went from almost not finishing to really liking it to being annoyed by the angst at the end, which was so stupid. Frankie’s used to people disappointing or misunderstanding her – as a woman who deals with autism and arthritis on a daily basis, it comes with the territory. It makes some things in my life more challenging in ways, yes, and maybe I don’t represent the “norm,” but I can be someone who surmounts obstacles without it meaning there’s something fundamentally lacking in my makeup. And this was before I knew what Kadrama/Kmovie tropes were… so this one and many others kept me in tears and on the edge of my seat wondering if there was going to be a happy ending or not.But Ren is like a ray of sunshine on her otherwise cold life, and once these two let each other in a little deeper, Frankie realizes that she’d love to soak up some of his warmth. Smoothing a hand over his play-off beard, he then brings it to the back of his neck and scratches, which I've learned over the past few years is his nervous tic.
