About this deal

Nonino distillates in fabulous cocktails and aperitifs for the happiness of the palate and the spirit. Amaro, meaning bitter, is traditionally drunk in Italy at the end of a meal to settle digestion and quench appetite. An amaro from Nonino, a family-owned company who have been distilling since 1897, Quintessentia is made with herbs and grape eaux-die-vie, aged in Nevers, Limousin and ex-sherry oak. Antonio Nonino, third generation of the family of distillers, thanks to an ancient knowledge kept for generations, starts the production of Nonino liqueurs.

Our overriding goal is constant improvement as we strive relentlessly after quality and innovate to make the best grappa in the world, in full respect of the territory and its culture: a grappa so fragrant with the aromas of its grape that it seduces even the most discriminating consumers. The most famous Amaro Nonino Quintessentia cocktail is the Paper Plane, a Sam Ross modern classic, but it can be used as a modifier in a wide range of drinks, adding herbal character and a mild sweetness. For the UÈ Grape Distillate, entire grapes (the skin, pulp, and grape juice) are left to ferment in stainless steel tanks with selected yeast, then distilled in a copper batch steam still. Nonino Grappa and ÙE®, Aged and Riserva, have always followed a natural ageing in barriques and small casks under seal and permanent surveillance by the Customs and Monopoly Agency. Other Italian amari that are distributed by the Campari Group are easy to find, like Campari, Aperol, Averna, and Cynar. Thus they started the Grappa Revolution, its transformation from a poor product into an excellence of the Made in Italy in the world. It usually has a bitter-sweet flavour, sometimes syrupy, and has an alcohol content between 16% and 40%.This article includes a list of references, related reading, or external links, but its sources remain unclear because it lacks inline citations. Though none of the original ingredients of the Last Word remain, the riff follows its structural template by relying on equal parts of each ingredient to strike a balance between bitter, sour, and herbal notes. It’s got a unique flavor that’s worth seeking out, less sweet than other amari but still easy to drink.
