About this deal

But, by the time I waded joyfully back into the nerd quicksand of Warhammer, with 40k’s 8th Edition launch in 2017, the Templars were woefully forgotten relics themselves – bereft of rules, never seen at competitive tables, and generally consigned to Warhammer’s well-populated, eternal waiting room of once-loved factions, forever to await rebirth and rejuvenation. But that’s just the point: I am the target market for this box – and I positively don’t want or need another Redemptor. There’s some great crusade badges, bits of heraldry, and big honkin Templar crosses to dress up your vehicles and big models in here.

This box is absolutely packed with righteous fury, as the unmistakable Imperial Fists successor Chapter puts the ‘grim’ into grimdark and gets tooled up for the latest edition of Warhammer 40,000. Black Templars Primaris Crusader Squad – including: 1x Primaris Sword Brother, 5x Primaris Initiates and 4x Primaris Neophytes. We’ve got an amazing week of articles ahead of us, including incredible miniature reveals and a closer look at Warhammer Underworlds: Harrowdeep. You certainly could do it, as the arms aren’t super prescriptive to the bodies and you can kind of build them however. Hop on over to Facebook , Twitter , and Instagram , where we’ll keep you updated with all the latest news as soon as we have it.Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. The builds open up after that with flat arm joins that let you use whichever arms you want, and classic ball and socket heads so you can position the included heads or swap in your own easily. This launch edition book comes with an exclusive cover featuring iconic John Blanche artwork from the third edition of Warhammer 40,000.

If GW had only included something newer instead, that fewer people are likely to have bought already, it would feel less like a poorly veiled ploy to purge its warehouse’s surfeit of older models. Personally, since I already have a solid backline of Intercessors for ranged fire, I went full punchy with my first ten Crusaders – Three Pistol/Chainsword Initiates, one Pistol/Power Fist Initiate, and one Pyreblaster Initiate – and then four Pistol/Chainsword Neophytes. After building your Crusaders, you’re gonna have a ton of bits left over to deck out more of your units and add some Templar flair to them.

That can be divots in kneepads for tabbards to fit in, or a sword arm having dents for torso detail to fit in. Leading the charge is the stunning new Emperor’s Champion, and ensuring that the correct vows are uttered and devotions followed is a Marshal. As well as a codex supplement featuring exclusive John Blanche artwork on the cover, you also get a deck of reference cards when you pick up the box – so you can get playing before the miniatures and codex supplement are released individually in a few weeks.

Containing 13 miniatures, 12 of which are available for the first time in this very box, this is the perfect place to start a Black Templars army or build on your existing force. The sprue comes with A LOT of spare pieces for the bits box, no matter how you sculpt them and load them out. The army does have some tricks, but I can’t see it competing in the upper echelons of the game right now, which isn’t the worst thing really. GW has kindly provided Wargamer with a free copy to review, and boy, oh boy, there’s a lot to be excited about here – but some surprises and peccadilloes, too, so I’ll break it down for you bit by bit in this review. We know this set will be a big hit – Black Templars are famed for their enthusiasm , and their fans are just as keen. This Black Templars Army Set is stuffed with stunning new all-Primaris Black Templars models, including a Marshal, Emperor's Champion, Neophytes, Initiates, and a Sword Brother. The minis in this box set are a Primaris Marshal, 10 Primaris Crusaders, a Redemptor Dreadnought, and The Emperor’s Champion. The Primaris Marshal (8/10) is a nice fluff-fathiful sculpt that really does feel like a BT alternative to the eternally generic captain choice. The content engines of Warhammer+ are operating at full power, creating brand new shows, animations, and more for you to devour every Wednesday.
